  • EP 110 | Angel Tree Beyond Christmas: Teaching Kids Compassion & Community w/Betsy Wright, Senior Director of Angel Tree at Prison Fellowship
    2026/10/14

You know Angel Tree at Christmas… but do you know what else they do?

What if one of the most important things we can teach our kids is how to notice others, look beyond their differences, and make room for people who may feel left out?

On this episode of Faith For Anxious Moms, I’m talking with Betsy Wright, Senior Director of Angel Tree with Prison Fellowship, about community, friendship, compassion, and the unique challenges faced by children who have an incarcerated parent.

We often hear about Angel Tree during the Christmas season, but there is so much more to the ministry than Christmas gifts. Betsy shares how Angel Tree comes alongside children and families affected by incarceration through community, camps, STEM opportunities, sports camps, and more.

But this conversation goes beyond Angel Tree.

We’re talking about how Christian moms can teach their children to see the child—not simply the circumstance.

    Together, we explore:

    • What children with incarcerated parents may experience
    • Misconceptions we may have about these families
    • Why community is especially important when stigma and shame can lead to isolation
    • How moms can teach their kids to look beyond differences
    • What Scripture teaches us about relationships and caring for one another
    • How one caring adult or one good friend can make a difference
    • What Angel Tree does beyond its Christmas program
    • Practical ways your family can notice, include, and care for others, especially the families of the incarcerated

Because our kids are watching how we treat people.

And sometimes teaching our children to care about others begins with showing them how to notice.

🎧 Listen now to Faith For Anxious Moms and discover what you may not know about Angel Tree—and how you can help your kids see beyond differences and build a community where others feel seen, loved, and welcomed.

    ENJOY friends and HAPPY WEDNESDAY!

    2026/09/30
What if caring for your family’s health started with asking better questions? As moms, we spend so much of motherhood caring 4 everyone else that it can be easy to put our own health on the back burner. And for anxious moms, the amount of health information out there can feel overwhelming.Today on Faith For Anxious Moms, I’m joined by Dr. Carly Egoavil, a licensed chiropractor & functional medicine practitioner w/ more than 15 years of clinical experience, and Dr. Rachel Marynowski, a licensed naturopathic physician w/ more than 20 years in healthcare.Together, they are Kale Blossom—two moms and physicians who have created an online community and are a huge resource for moms who want to become more informed about their health and the health of their children. In this conversation, we talk about what a functional approach to health means, how it differs from conventional medical care, from immunization schedules to recent study findings on Tylenol, we talk about how moms can become informed advocates for themselves and their families. And because motherhood doesn’t leave much time for long conversations, we finish with a rapid-fire round covering everything from organic food, cookware, walking after meals, sauna vs. cold plunge, & where moms can start supporting their health today.Whether you’re a SAHM, a working mom, or somewhere in between, caring for yourself is part of caring for the family God has entrusted to you. And just as we turn to faith, Scripture, a Bible verse, or a Bible study when we need wisdom for the challenges of motherhood, we can also give ourselves permission to ask questions and learn about our health. Find Kale Blossom on Instagram at @kaleblossom and explore the resources they recommend for finding practitioners and learning more about functional health. This episode is for educational and informational purposes only and is not a substitute for individualized medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment.ENJOY friends and HAPPY WEDNESDAY!Leave a ReviewBecome an InsiderLynn's DevotionalInstagramLYNN’s Amazon StorefrontLinktreeMy GUEST: @KaleBlossom on Instagramwww.kaleblossom.comNook, Low Tox Home Scanner App - Kale Blossom********************This Episode Is Sponsored by Lovebug ProbioticsAs moms, we spend so much time caring for our children, our families, and everyone around us that taking care of ourselves can easily fall to the bottom of the list. This episode of Faith for Anxious Moms is brought to you by Lovebug Probiotics, a mom-founded probiotic brand created to make supporting your family's gut health a simple part of everyday wellness.Lovebug's story began with motherhood. • EP 108 | Are You Seeking Wisdom or Validation? Biblical Wisdom for Moms
    2026/06/24

Every mom needs advice from time to time.

Whether you're navigating parenting decisions, marriage struggles, homeschooling, friendships, anxiety, or simply trying to discern God's will, the question isn't whether you'll seek counsel—it's who you'll listen to.

In this episode of Faith for Anxious Moms, Lynn explores the story of King Rehoboam in 2 Chronicles 10-12 and the costly consequences of rejecting wise counsel. Rehoboam sought advice from two groups of people, but ultimately chose the voices that affirmed what he wanted to hear rather than what he needed to hear.

As Christian moms, we're surrounded by opinions—from social media, parenting experts, friends, family members, and online communities. But how do we know which voices are helping us move closer to God's wisdom?

    Together we'll discuss:

✔ Why seeking godly counsel is a biblical principle✔ The difference between advice that feels comfortable and advice that is wise✔ Titus 2 and the importance of older women mentoring younger women✔ How Proverbs 15:22 and Proverbs 3:5-6 guide our decision-making✔ Why God's Word must remain our ultimate source of truth✔ Practical encouragement for moms who feel like they don't have a trusted mentor

We'll also talk about the beauty of studying the Old Testament and why these ancient stories continue to provide wisdom for modern motherhood.

If you're looking for biblical wisdom, encouragement, Bible study tools, and practical help for growing your faith while raising godly kids, this episode is for you.
