Focus. Release scattered thoughts and find rest. Focus might feel like a strong, restricted word, but with focus comes peace. Through meditation, yoga and sound, we practice focusing on one thing, we focus on a point, a breath, a feeling, a sensation. During certain times in the calendar or even our lives, our focus can be scattered. A hundred thoughts spring from the well of our minds, some nice, some challenging and some completely ridiculous. The mind is a muscle, we put such pressure on ourselves to 'switch off' but it is a practice, we must practice, through meditation and focus-based exercises to gain clarity, peace, calm and yes presence.
This Yoga Nidra is a simple guided practice, using the traditional practice of placing stars on the body and encouraging deep rest. You can do this first thing in the morning before work, as a mid-day reset or before bed.
