  • Jesus and Righteous Anger: When Love Flips Tables
    2025/07/15

Is it ever okay for Christians to be angry? In today’s episode, we explore one of the most striking moments in Jesus' ministry: the cleansing of the temple. And not just once, He did it twice.

We’ll examine both temple cleansings in John 2 and Matthew 21, showing that righteous anger, when rooted in love and justice, is not only acceptable, but it can be holy.

You'll also hear a personal story about confronting gossip among friends, the cost of standing for what’s right, and the freedom that comes when we follow Jesus with boldness and integrity.

Whether you're someone who struggles with confrontation or someone who needs a reminder that truth and love can coexist, this episode will challenge and encourage you to walk like Jesus even when it’s uncomfortable.

    🧠 What You’ll Learn:

    • The difference between righteous anger and sinful anger

    • Why Jesus cleansed the temple twice, and what it means for us

    • How to discern when to speak up and when to stay silent

    • What does it mean to confront injustice with love

    • How anger, when submitted to God, can be redemptive, no, destructive

      📖 Scriptures Mentioned:

    • John 2:1 –16

    • Matthew 21 12 1

    • Ephesians 4:26

    • Isaiah 1:17

    • Micah 6:8

    • James 1:20

      💬 Discussion Questions:

    1. What stands out to you about the fact that Jesus cleansed the temple twice?

    2. Have you ever witnessed or experienced injustice that stirred righteous anger in you? How did you respond?

    3. What are some practical ways to tell the difference between righteous anger and selfish anger?

    4. Is there a situation in your life right now where you feel God calling you to act with courage?
