    Kyira Wackett is a licensed mental health therapist, facilitator and creator. She lives in Portland, OR with her husband, Jordan and her daughter, Everly. She is the owner of Adversity Rising where she equips people with the confidence and skills to write their own story. She also sees patients in a private therapy practice treating eating disorders, anxiety disorders and trauma. She has been speaking on topics related to mental health and well-being for over 10 years and focuses on balancing insight and action to create meaningful and sustainable change. Her specialties lie in communication, boundary setting, distress tolerance, forgiveness (self and others) and cognitive reframe and empowerment.   • Jeremy Ford and the PEERS Program

    Dr. Jeremy Ford has been an Associate Professor at Boise State University since the summer of 2015. He began the PEERS program in 2020. The PEERS Program is an inclusive, two year postsecondary education program for students with intellectual disabilities at Boise State University.   • Dr. Tosha Strickland and Central Auditory Processing Disorder

    Dr. Tosha Strickland is an Idaho native. She obtained her Doctorate of Audiology from AT Still University in Mesa, Arizona. She holds two Bachelor's Degrees, one in English, Business and Spanish from Brigham Young University and one from Utah State University in Communicative Disorders and Deaf Education.


    She finished her clinical rotation at Texas Children's Hospital in Houston, Texas in 2008. As a member of the cochlear implant team at Texas Children's, Dr. Strickland worked closely with 300 plus cochlear implant patients and surgeon Dr. John Oghalia from Baylor College of Medicine. She subsequently has worked at hospitals in Walnut Creek and Berkeley, California.

    She currently owns her own clinic, Strickland Ear Clinic, where she specializes in pediatric and adult audiological rehabilitation, cochlear implants, hearing aids, research and community outreach.
