Episode 8: Prisons, Health and Social Justice Interview With Rahul Vanjani, M.D.

  • サマリー

  • In episode 8 of the Let Me Clear My Throat Podcast, we interview our friend Rahul Vanjani, M.D. He's currently Assistant Professor of Medicine, Clinician Educator at Brown, as well as a primary care physician. Rahul Vanjani previously worked in two different medical systems as a physician - San Quentin Prison and Rikers Island. While our goal was to discuss the Brown Guy's Guide to surviving prison (including Naitik's fear of not getting a vegetarian meal), Rahul intelligently brought the discussion to the more substantive issues of incarceration and health. Overall, it was a fascinating issue to be discussed from a perspective often not heard in the media. Check out Dr. Vanjani's publication on the same topic in the New England Journal of Medicine here: https://www.nejm.org/doi/full/10.1056/NEJMp1702373
