In this episode, I sit down with the gentle and wise Skaya Hedstrom, a yoga teacher and Ayurvedic practitioner based in the southwest of Western Australia. I first met Skaya as my yoga teacher, and soon after, I found myself in one of her Ayurveda workshops—curious, open, and completely inspired.
Ayurveda is an ancient Indian system of medicine, grounded in balance, routine, and deep self-awareness. It can feel complex at first—doshas, digestive fire, seasonal eating. But Skaya has a beautiful way of making it feel accessible and relevant for our modern lives.
We talk about the core principles of Ayurveda, the importance of understanding your dosha, and how mindful routines can support your overall wellbeing. From digestion to daily rituals, from self-kindness to consistency. This conversation is filled with gentle reminders to come back to yourself and care for your body as a whole system.
Whether you’re brand new to Ayurveda or reconnecting with it after some time away, I hope this episode gives you something to take with you—an idea, a nudge, or maybe even a cup of CCFT tea.
