This episode is hot off the press—literally straight from my journal and prayer time. The Lord has been wrecking me (in the best way) about what it really means to be His daughter...and why I’ve had such a hard time calling Him “Father.”

When God Asked Me Why I Can’t Call Him “Father”

God said something to me recently that hit deep. He said,

“You have an issue calling Me Father.”

And I already knew that… but you know when the Lord gently calls you out? Like, “Sweet girl, let’s talk about this.”

He asked, “Why? Why do you think that is?”

I didn’t know how to answer at first. I just knew the title “Lord” felt safer. Easier. “Father” required a level of intimacy that I didn’t feel comfortable with.

And then it clicked: I’m a recovering independent woman.
Forever in recovery.

We’re talking about hyper-independence, the illusion of “boss girl” culture, and how our feisty personalities (🙋🏽‍♀️) are not the enemy—but they do need to be surrendered. I’m unpacking how God is teaching me the difference between shame and conviction—and why those two can actually exist at the same time.

This one’s raw. It’s real. And if you’ve ever wrestled with feeling “too much” or “not enough,” or struggled to let God fully father you, you need to sit with this one.
