Meet Cyclospora, a parasite that only infect affects people and has been wreaking havoc on all vegetable and fruit lovers this year. We dig into exactly what this creature is and have a very informative interview with Uncle George, who is actually being treated for it right now. His real life experiences will hopefully save someone from weeks of needless suffering.
This creepy parasite didn’t even have an official name until 1994 and only lives inside people so very little is actually known about it since human trials are frowned upon. It starts out it’s life as a little spore that contains four baby parasites that hatch out inside you like aliens and then they attach to your intestines and start reproducing. If it sounds terrible it feels even worse. It even has its own season from May 1 through August 31. So bizarre.
