Welsh born of Irish, Portuguese heritage, Rachel came to Melbourne, Australia at the young age of 8. The baby of 6, her new life, down under was considerably different to what was left behind and she embraced the Australian way. Competitive in many sports and reaching state level at a young age, she felt restless and the desire to see the country was beckoning her. On completion of her schooling, she decided to take a one way ticket to Western Australia where her journey began.
