Christina then reflects on how her experience with acting turned into a desire to write her own stories after the disappointment of not seeing enough complex Latine characters in the theater & film world. Finally the three dive into the impact of Genera+ion, with how ahead of its time the series was, as well as the experience of writing profound stories for ensemble queer characters. Christina discusses what it was like to write for the Latina queer characters of the show, which prompts the conversation around the importance of writing queer joy.
