  • When Stress Becomes a Fracture: The Cost of Pushing Through Everything
    2026/10/12

    Send us Fan Mail

At what point does resilience stop being resilience and become self-neglect?

We often praise people for pushing through, staying productive, and continuing to perform under pressure. But high capacity is not unlimited capacity.

In this episode of Empower Hour with Lady J, Jodi Marie explores what happens when “I’ll rest later” becomes a pattern, when chronic stress becomes normal, and when the ability to carry a lot causes us to keep carrying more than we should.

    This conversation examines:

    • Why sustained demand without recovery can become dangerous
    • How high capacity can become a trap
    • The difference between a demanding season and an unsustainable system
    • Warning signs such as emotional exhaustion, irritability, detachment, resentment, loss of creativity, difficulty focusing, and constant overwhelm
    • Why burnout is not always a time-management problem
    • How Q4 urgency can affect the person expected to build Q1
    • Why rest, boundaries, and capacity are part of responsible stewardship

    Sometimes the question is not:

“How can I fit more in?”

    Sometimes the better question is:

“What should no longer be on this calendar?”

    As you listen, consider:

What are you currently calling discipline that may actually be depletion?

If nothing changed about the way you are operating right now, how would you feel three months from now?

What is one thing you can remove, renegotiate, delegate, or pause?

Choose one area of your capacity to steward differently this week.

Listen, share, and continue the conversation:

Those listener reflection questions and the one-area stewardship CTA come directly from the Episode 4 framework.

  • The Fear of Being Seen: Stop Shrinking to Stay Comfortable
    2026/09/28

    Send us Fan Mail

Sometimes the hardest part of becoming who we are meant to be is allowing other people to see us becoming.

In this episode of Empower Hour with Lady J, Jodi Marie explores the fear of being seen, judged, misunderstood, or criticized, and how those fears can cause us to shrink, hide, or delay the very things we know we are called to do.

This conversation explores what happens when we outgrow old versions of ourselves, when others are more comfortable with who we used to be, and when visibility starts to feel more vulnerable than failure itself.

    You’ll hear reflections on:

    • Fear of judgment and misunderstanding
    • Why people from our past may struggle with who we are becoming
    • The difference between visibility and validation
    • How childhood experiences and old wounds can shape adult behavior
    • Why authenticity does not mean giving everyone access to everything
    • The courage to share your story, use your voice, and show up imperfectly
    • Letting purpose matter more than universal approval
    • Why being seen by the right people may require being misunderstood by others

Jodi also connects this conversation to Alone: A Story of Finding Self and the experience of allowing deeply personal parts of her story to be seen, while learning that vulnerability and boundaries can exist at the same time.

The reflection question for this episode is:

Where are you shrinking because you are afraid of being seen?

    And then ask yourself:

If you knew no one would judge you, what would you finally allow yourself to do?

Watch, listen, reflect, and then continue the conversation inside the Empower Hour with Lady J community.

You do not need everyone to understand who you are becoming.

You just need enough courage to stop abandoning who you are becoming so everyone else can stay comfortable.

  • Misalignment Is Not Failure: When Pushing Harder Isn’t the Answer
    2026/09/14

    Send us Fan Mail

Sometimes we keep pushing because walking away feels like failure.

We have already invested the time, the money, the relationships, the identity, and the years of effort, so surely we are supposed to keep going.

But what if continuing is not perseverance?

    What if it is misalignment?

In this episode of Empower Hour with Lady J, Jodi Marie explores the difference between persistence and alignment, why resilience without discernment can become self-abandonment, and how chronic depletion can be a signal that something deserves honest evaluation.

She shares personal lessons from entrepreneurship, real estate, fitness, burnout, bankruptcy, faith, and the journey behind Alone: A Story of Finding Self, while challenging listeners to examine the areas of life they may be carrying simply because letting go would feel like failure.

    You will hear about:

    • Why changing direction does not erase what a season taught you
    • The danger of tying identity to titles, accomplishments, and outcomes
    • Burnout, emotional exhaustion, and the importance of recognizing misalignment early
    • Why previous investments should not automatically determine your future
    • The role of faith, discernment, courage, and surrender
    • How redirection can become visible only after movement
    • Why disappointing outcomes do not have to define you

The episode closes with two important questions:

What are you still carrying because putting it down would make you feel like you failed?

If failure were completely removed from the equation, would you still choose it?

Join the deeper conversation and access the Empower Hour with Lady J community at:

    And remember:

    Misalignment is not failure.

One note: I would not lead the title with “burnout,” even though burnout is a meaningful part of the episode. The transcript makes it clear that the central promise is broader: alignment, discernment, identity, and knowing when to stop forcing a path. Burnout is one consequence and warning sign, not the entire episode.
