In the aftermath of the War of Austrian Succession, the Austrian court is filled with revanchism and hopes to build an anti-Prussian coalition in hopes of reconquering Silesia. These efforts would be led by Wentzel Anton von Kaunitz, a rising star in Viennese court and future Chancellor. Meanwhile in the Americas a young George Washington ambushes French troops in the Ohio territory, escalating tensions between Britain and France. Europe is quickly becoming a powder keg, and soon Frederick II of Prussia will light the match and change the course of history forever.

Following the War of Polish Succession, it seemed like Europe might enjoy some peace for a time. However, in 1740, the ruler's of Prussia, Russia, and Austria all die in quick succession. Charles VI's pragmatic sanction would be tested before his daughter, Maria Theresa, could properly rule. Bavaria would dispute the succession, and being backed by France, it starts a crisis in Europe. This becomes coupled with Frederick II's invasion of Silesia, Spain pressing demands for Parma and Piacenza, and the War of Jenkins Ear between Spain and Britain. All of these conflicts and disputes combine together into what becomes the War of Austrian Succession. Afterwards, the stage will be set for the Diplomatic revolution and the final moves before the eruption of The 7 Years War.

In this episode Devan and Levi briefly discuss the War of the Quadruple Alliance, and the War of Polish Succession, despite these two conflicts being of lower intensity, the both have major territorial changes and alliances shift as Europe's major powers scheme against each other while trying to maintain the balance of power. The episode ends in 1740 with Charles VI, Archduke of Austria and Emperor of the Holy Roman Empire dies and his efforts at the Pragmatic Sanction will soon be put the test in the war of Austrian Succession. Pieces are slowly starting the put in place and grievances begin to mount for what will become the 7 years war.
