Here, we cast an eye over the filmmaking career of guest star John Waters and zone in on all the little details that help make this one of the most fun Simpsons episodes ever. Zzzappp!

This week’s Spotlight On Springfield features Superintendent Chalmers – a man known to his mother as Gary and to Ralf Wiggum as Super Nintendo Chalmers. We look at his tense, uneasy relationship with Principal Skinner and explore the theory that, like the hapless Frank Grimes, Chalmers has one foot in the real world and one foot in the chaos that is Springfield.

We also kick off our Season Eight highlights with Michael’s first pick, You Only Move Twice, in which the Simpsons leave Springfield for the idyllic surroundings of Cypress Creek so that Homer can take a step up on his dusty career ladder.
