概要

A running podcast hosted by Ryan, Dean and Eoin — three sub-elite runners and training partners based in Perth, Australia / Dublin, Ireland. Each week we break down the world of distance running — from training, racing and shoe tech to the stories shaping the sport. Along the way we’re joined by elite athletes, coaches and personalities from across the global running scene. Expect honest conversations, deep dives into performance, a few questionable theories, and plenty of banter from the easy miles. Serious about running, not too serious about ourselves. • EDP63: Dublin City Half Marathon / USA 5k Road Champs / Runway Sydney Half Marathon
    2026/05/05

This week on the Easy Double podcast, in what seems like a down week in the running world, that was not the case on the island of Ireland. The Dublin City Half Marathon took place, with some of Ireland's premier athletes taking to the roads, while down the other end of the country, the Great Limerick Run took place with some more fast running. Up north, the Belfast Marathon took place, which resulted in another sprint finish. Over in Sydney, the Hoka Runway Sydney Half Marathon took place, while in the US, their National Road 5K took centre stage.

📰 In running news, we discuss Abby Steiner suing Puma for defective shoes resulting in injuries, we chat about Rory Leonard leaving Andy Hobdell, and British Athletics yet again causing some controversy with their European marathon team selections.

📺 In YouTube Diaries, we discuss the athlete that is Marco Langon and break down his workout filmed on All Access Track.

👊 Olympic ticket prices get the hit on this week's Double Trouble.

Join us as we break all of this down and much more.

  • EDP62: London Marathon World Record 1:59
    2026/04/28

World records shattered as two of the world's biggest marathon majors are decided. Sebastian Sawe etched his name into history forever by running 1:59:30, becoming the first person ever to break the two-hour marathon barrier, while Tigst Assefa broke the women's-only world record in a stunning 2:15. Over in Boston, a fast and wind-assisted course saw Sharon Lokedi and John Korir claim the top honours in one of the most dramatic editions in years. Meanwhile, the Balarath came to Australian soil, with some of the country's finest athletes putting on a standout display on home roads.

📰 In running news, Glasgow has been awarded the 2027 European Cross Country Championships. Adidas has unveiled a new super shoe weighing under 100 grams — and with both London Marathon winners racing in it, we give our verdict on whether it's a true game-changer.

📺 This week's YouTube diary shout-out goes to Charles Hicks, who ran an eye-watering 2:04 marathon in Boston, earning himself a 5-minute PB. He gives a brilliant insight into what it's like being a Nike pro athlete — well worth a watch.

  • Jonathan Gault: Inside the World of Elite Track & Field Journalism
    2026/04/24

This week on the Easy Double Podcast, we’re joined by one of the most trusted and knowledgeable voices in global track & field — Jon Gault.

Fresh off a huge weekend of marathon racing, we kick things off with a deep dive into the Boston Marathon — how the races unfolded, what stood out, and whether the outcomes matched expectations. We then look ahead to the London Marathon, breaking down the elite fields, predicting the winners, and asking who the top British performers might be on the day.

We also get Jon’s perspective on what it’s like covering the sport at the highest level — from reporting on the biggest races in the world to navigating the ever-evolving landscape of athletics media. Naturally, that leads into a conversation around LetsRun, its reputation within the sport, and the balance between reporting, opinion, and controversy.

There’s also a quick-fire round where we put Jon on the spot with everything from favourite meets and dream interviews to Brighton & Hove Albion allegiances and a few curveballs.

If you’re into marathon racing, elite track & field, or just want a behind-the-scenes look at how the biggest stories in the sport are covered — this is a must-listen.
