WHAT ARE WE DOING DRAFT WISE?

On this edition of Buffalo Combat Zone, Alex Miley, Alex Cullen, and Randall Slifer dive into the roster construction of the 2026 Buffalo Bills as the first wave of free agency winds down. With the big move for DJ Moore and the defensive splash of Bradley Chubb in the books, the guys pivot to the draft board and the remaining holes on the roster.

In this episode:

• Compensatory Pick Fallout: The league has officially released the 2026 compensatory selections. We break down why Buffalo was shut out of the extra picks this year and how it impacts Brandon Beane’s strategy for filling out the back end of the roster.
•

• The Trade-Back Theory: Buffalo currently ranks 28th in total draft capital. With significant needs at Safety, Edge, and Linebacker, is pick No. 26 too high to stay? We discuss potential trade-back scenarios into the early second round to recoup the picks lost in the DJ Moore acquisition.
•

• Secondary Revamp: New additions C.J. Gardner-Johnson and Geno Stone bring a veteran spark to the secondary. We analyze their fit in the scheme and discuss if the Bills still need to target a high-upside safety like Emmanuel McNeil-Warren or Maxwell Hairston early in the draft.
•

• Free Agency Surplus: Breaking down the latest signings, including the return of Kyle Allen, the addition of Dee Alford, and the one-year "prove it" deals for depth on the defensive line.
•

• Draft Strategy: If the "Best Player Available" is an Edge rusher at 26, do you take him, or do you reach for the verticality this offense still lacks?

From the salary cap gymnastics to the draft war room, we're covering every angle to see if these moves are enough to push the Bills over the hump.
