In our fifteenth episode I am joined by Lady Bushra. Born and raised in the Bradford District to a conservative family and despite having a degree in Biomedical Science, Amir always aspired a career in the entertainment world. As the world was grappling with the COVID-19 pandemic, Amir found himself jobless, relying on government assistance and forced to face his ultimate truth; he was bought on this earth solely to make people laugh. A few sarees and lipsticks later, Amir has proved himself to be a versatile artist, offering varied performances in his shows including acting, singing, as well as dancing. Together with his husband, Amir also hosts a successful podcast called ‘You Don’t Love Me’. Shortlisted for a BBC New Comedy Award, the internationally renowned, comedic character of ‘Lady Bushra’ is played by Amir, amassing a social media following of over 500K across all platforms whereas his online content has been viewed over 40 million times globally. Since 2022, this British Asian beauty has been touring the UK and parts of Europe with his often sold out, solo show ‘Drag Comedy Cabaret’, now stationed in New York City.
