Downtown Tipp City Partnership Launches “Downtown Lowdown” Podcast

TIPP CITY — Downtown Tipp City is stepping into the spotlight with a new way for residents and visitors to connect: the Downtown Tipp City Partnership (DTCP) has officially launched its own podcast, “Downtown Lowdown.” The new show, hosted by DTCP Executive Director Tasha Weaver, promises to deliver the stories, updates, and behind-the-scenes energy that make downtown Tipp City a true community hub.

    More Than Just Events

While many know the DTCP for its lively calendar of public events, Weaver emphasized on the inaugural episode—recorded in collaboration with the Tippecanoe Gazette’s News Makers podcast—that the organization’s work goes far beyond festivals and gatherings. “The Downtown Lowdown is going to be about our programs and events, of course, but also be a deep dive into what our design committee is doing, what our promotion committee is doing, etc.,” Weaver explained. Listeners can expect coverage of everything from downtown beautification projects to the group’s recent national Main Street accreditation, a distinction earned by fewer than 1,200 communities nationwide.

    A Podcast for the Community

Episodes will feature event sneak peeks, interviews with business owners, and updates on ongoing projects. The show aims to demystify the work of the DTCP’s various committees—such as the design committee, which oversees the popular facade improvement program and the placement of flower pots, benches, and tables throughout downtown. Weaver also highlighted the essential role of volunteers, noting, “All of these committees, they're volunteers. They're not getting paid. They're coming to make downtown beautiful or to make it better because they actually care.”

    How to Get Involved

Weaver encouraged Tipp City residents and business owners to support the partnership in several ways. The easiest? Become a “Friend of Downtown” through a yearly membership, which comes with updates about all upcoming events and programs. “You just join on our website, downtowntippcity.org,” Weaver said. For those looking to give back with time and talent, the DTCP welcomes volunteers with a variety of skills and interests—just call or email to get started.

    Building Partnerships and Looking Ahead

The launch of “Downtown Lowdown” is part of a broader effort to foster collaboration among Tipp City’s many civic groups. The DTCP works closely with organizations like the Miami County Visitors Bureau and the Tipp City Chamber of Commerce to promote tourism, track event attendance, and highlight the city’s unique charm. Data from recent events, for example, showed visitors coming from as far as Florida, helping the DTCP target future outreach and advertising efforts.

    Tune In

“Downtown Lowdown” will release new episodes every Wednesday. Residents are encouraged to subscribe wherever they get their podcasts and turn on notifications to stay in the know about all things downtown Tipp City. As Weaver put it, “This is just the beginning. I can't wait to keep sharing those stories, heart and hustle that make downtown Tipp City such a special place.”
