Just in time for Halloween, the Bandits sit down with comics creators Dan Brereton and Cullen Bunn to explore the dark, strange, and endlessly inventive world of horror comics. From Brereton’s richly painted monsters and cult-favorite Nocturnals to Bunn’s chilling blends of supernatural menace, dark fantasy, and visceral scares, the conversation digs into what makes horror work on the page, how artists and writers build atmosphere and suspense, and why a well-timed shock is only part of a great horror story. Dan and Cullen share their inspirations, discuss the unique ways comics can unsettle readers, and explore how these stories can mix terror with humor, heart, and unforgettable characters. It’s a celebration of the genre’s many flavors—and the perfect conversation for the spookiest time of year.z

From Hawaiian Dick and The Leading Man to his latest creator-owned projects, B. Clay Moore has built a career on sharp genre storytelling, memorable characters, and high-concept premises. On this episode, Clay joins the Bandits to reflect on his journey through comics and discuss his current work with Ignition Press, including Bloodland, his political horror series with artist Mack Chater, which imagines an America sliding into authoritarianism with a cabal of vampires pulling the strings, and Dispatched, a high-octane thriller with artist Daniel Gete about an ex-black-ops agent forced to fight his way through a terrorist siege using his survival skills and whatever happens to be inside a van full of delivery packages. Clay talks about the creative partnerships behind both books, the real-world ideas that inspire his stories, and what continues to drive him as a writer in the ever-changing world of independent comics.

What starts as a love of comics can turn into a whole community, and Chad Farley has helped build exactly that with Collectors Confessions. On this episode, Chad joins the Bandits to talk about the origins and growth of the YouTube channel he co-hosts with Brian VanNostrand, their shared passion for comics and collecting, and how the show evolved from an audio podcast into a destination for creator interviews, comic shop tours, convention coverage, and weekly haul streams. Chad also reflects on the changing comics retail landscape, the importance of local shops and fan communities, and what he’s learned from interviewing creators and connecting with collectors across the hobby.
