For families with kids, the Maryland Science Center is hosting Bubble Days both Saturday and Sunday from noon to 4 p.m. Bubble artist Casey Carle will be there with an entertaining and educational bubble show, and kids can experiment with bubble wands and bubble solutions. Over at the Maryland Zoo, Wild Water Splash Days runs Saturday and Sunday too, offering splash pads, water slides, bounce houses, and animal encounters from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Crab lovers, get ready for the legendary Crab Fest at the B&O Railroad Museum on Saturday from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m. According to Baltimore Magazine, you’ll get to try everything from crab tacos to pretzels, corn, and the classic steamed crabs from over 30 food and retail vendors. There’s also live music and craft beer, so bring your appetite and save room for dessert.
If you’re in the mood for a little Caribbean flair, the Baltimore Caribbean Festival takes over the city Saturday and Sunday with a vibrant celebration of Caribbean music, food, and culture.
Music enthusiasts have several options. The Sunset Concert at Star Bright Farm features Mambo Combo delivering Latin beats as the sun dips behind the fields, with local food trucks and drinks available. At Keystone Korner, the Donald Harrison Quartet will light up Saturday night with jazz, soul, and funk. Or, transport yourself to the movies with the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra’s live rendition of the iconic JAWS score as the film plays at Joseph Meyerhoff Symphony Hall on both Saturday night and Sunday afternoon.
The outdoor movie scene is also thriving. The Wine Bin is showing Groundhog Day under the stars from 9 to 11 p.m. on Saturday, making it a cozy date or family night.
Don’t forget about community-focused fun like Chess Fest at Lexington Market, a British music experience at Horseshoe Casino, and the annual Baltimore Dragon Boat Challenge along the waterfront for high-energy racing and shore-side activities.
There’s absolutely no shortage of ways to explore, taste, and experience Baltimore this weekend and beyond. Whether you’re a foodie, a family with kids, a music lover, or just someone eager to get out and feel the city’s summertime energy, Baltimore has something just for you.
