Welcome to my brand-new podcast, “Against the Grain”.

My name is Owen Harris

This show is about Christian discipleship; but not the normal garden variety kind of discipleship common today; it is about a kind of discipleship that has a sharp angle, a cutting edge; one that goes against the grain. The kind of discipleship I call, “Intelligent Discipleship”.

In this first season of a series of weekly episodes- packed with Ideas, insights, and practical Information- we will explore the essential nature of Intelligent discipleship and how to use our intelligence to help us become successful 21st century Christian disciples. We will discover how, by using our intelligence, we can: become successful independent learners; develop and use our skills and talents more effectively; develop emotional intelligence; become more adept at problems solving, develop boarder perspectives and transform our personal relationships. 

Too many Christians seem inclined to just go along with the flow. I have designed this show to help Christian disciples become strategic and systematic in their approach to their calling as Christ disciples.  I want you to understand the nature of Christian discipleship and what you need to do to be a successful 21st Century disciple of Jesus Christ.

Are you someone who takes their call to discipleship seriously and want to know how to make a good go at it? Someone willing to develop and use their intelligence to become an effective disciple? A person who isn’t content with just going along with the flow but willing to think, reflect, learn, probe, question, analyse, experiment?  Well, this podcast show is for you.
