  • What's REALLY Happening with Man United on Deadline Day?
    2026/09/01

It’s DEADLINE DAY — and Manchester United still haven’t fixed one of the most obvious problems in Michael Carrick’s squad.

In this video, I’m looking at Manchester United’s lack of late transfer activity, why left-back remains such a major concern and the latest names being linked with moves to Old Trafford before the summer transfer window closes.

Sunday’s 5-2 win over Ipswich was brilliant going forward, but it also exposed a familiar weakness. Luke Shaw struggled defensively, with Abdul Fatawu beating him to create Ipswich’s opening goal, while United were also exposed in transition down that side. At 31, with his injury history and no established senior left-back behind him, can United really afford to enter the season without another option?

Lewis Hall appears unavailable, but two very different names have emerged.

United are reportedly progressing talks for 18-year-old Leicester City talent Louis Page, with a potential £10M+ deal being discussed. However, Page is primarily a midfielder rather than an immediate solution to the left-back problem.

Then there’s Jorge Salinas. The highly-rated Racing Santander left-back has been monitored by United, with reports previously suggesting a €16M release clause as INEOS search for competition for Shaw.

So are Manchester United actually going to solve the problem — or are we waiting until another transfer window?

  • Huge Positives + Key Warning Signs in Man United's 5-2 Thrashing v Ipswich in First Home Premier League Game
    2026/08/30

Manchester United are FINALLY up and running in the Premier League after a chaotic 5-2 demolition of Ipswich Town at Old Trafford!

In this Manchester United vs Ipswich review, I’m breaking down Michael Carrick’s first Premier League win of the 2026/27 season, the standout individual performances and — despite scoring FIVE — the warning signs INEOS need to address before the transfer window shuts on Tuesday.

Bruno Fernandes was once again the difference-maker. The Manchester United captain responded to Ipswich taking the lead by scoring a brilliant hat-trick before assisting Bryan Mbeumo for United’s fifth. But one of the biggest positives was Kobbie Mainoo, whose return to the starting XI gave United considerably more quality and control through midfield.

Marcus Rashford also showed encouraging signs on his Old Trafford return, while Matheus Cunha was heavily involved and Mbeumo eventually got his goal.

But 5-2 doesn't tell the entire story.

Ipswich caused Manchester United serious problems during the first half, particularly down United’s left, with Abdul Fatawu beating Luke Shaw before creating Leif Davis’ opening goal. That raises another massive question with Deadline Day approaching: does Manchester United STILL need a new left-back?

I’m looking at the positives, the problems hidden by the scoreline and what this performance should tell INEOS before Tuesday’s transfer deadline.

⚽ Manchester United 5-2 Ipswich reaction
    🎩 Bruno Fernandes’ incredible hat-trick
    🌟 Kobbie Mainoo’s importance to Carrick’s midfield
🔙 Marcus Rashford’s encouraging Old Trafford return
    🔥 Mbeumo & Cunha’s attacking performances
    🛡️ Why left-back remains a major concern
💰 What United MUST do before Deadline Day

  • What Man United Fans Can REALLY Expect Before Deadline Day of the 2026/27 Transfer Window
    2026/08/28

What Man United NEED To Do Before Deadline Day

The transfer window is almost over, but Manchester United still have work to do before Deadline Day.

In this video, I’m breaking down the final pieces of business I think Manchester United need to complete before the summer transfer window closes — and whether INEOS should be looking for one more major signing or trusting the squad Michael Carrick already has.

The biggest question surrounds left-back. United have been linked with Lewis Hall, but with Newcastle reluctant to sell, does it make sense to force a deal now? Or, as we’ve seen with targets like Carlos Baleba, should Manchester United be prepared to wait for the right player at the right price rather than settling for an alternative?

Then there’s the attack. With questions surrounding the futures of players like Joshua Zirkzee, United need to decide whether there’s enough attacking depth to survive a full Premier League season. Do we need another striker? Another versatile forward? Or would a late signing simply block opportunities for the players already at Old Trafford?

With Deadline Day approaching, this is about assessing the Manchester United squad as a whole, identifying the remaining weaknesses and deciding whether INEOS have done enough to give Michael Carrick what he needs for the 2026/27 season.

🔴 What Manchester United still need before Deadline Day
🛡️ The remaining problem at left-back
👀 The latest situation surrounding Lewis Hall
⚡ Whether United need another attacking signing
✈️ How potential departures could change the plan
💰 Why INEOS shouldn't panic-buy before the window closes
🏆 Whether this squad is strong enough to achieve our expectations this season

  • What Joshua Zirkzee's Loan Move to Fiorentina REALLY Means for Man United's Striker Search this Summer Transfer Window
    2026/08/27

Joshua Zirkzee could be leaving Manchester United for Fiorentina — but once again, the structure of the deal raises some frustrating questions about how United sell their players.

In this video, I’m breaking down the latest Joshua Zirkzee transfer news, with Fiorentina in talks to sign the Manchester United forward on loan. The proposed deal reportedly includes a €5M loan fee and an option to buy, potentially giving Zirkzee the opportunity to return to Serie A after previously impressing with Bologna.

From a football perspective, I can understand the move. Zirkzee has struggled to establish himself consistently at Old Trafford, scoring nine times across 75 appearances, and his position in Michael Carrick’s Manchester United squad has become increasingly unclear. A return to Italy could give him the regular football and system he needs to rediscover the player United originally spent £36.5M to sign.

But from Manchester United’s perspective, I’m far less convinced.

After some genuinely impressive work elsewhere during this transfer window, potentially allowing another valuable player to leave on a loan with only an OPTION to buy feels frustrating. United need to become better at protecting player value, generating transfer income and knowing when to permanently move players on.

So what does the Joshua Zirkzee to Fiorentina deal actually mean for Manchester United — and could it have consequences for the final days of the transfer window?

🇮🇹 Why Fiorentina want to bring Zirkzee back to Serie A
💰 Why the loan + option to buy structure concerns me
😤 How it compares to United’s other transfer business
🔴 What Zirkzee’s departure means for Michael Carrick’s squad
👀 Whether United now need another attacking signing

  • Jean-Philippe Mateta Emerges as a New Striker Target for Manchester United for £30M... but is he the RIGHT Fit?
    2026/08/26

Manchester United and Jean-Philippe Mateta.Let's discuss...Jean-Philippe Mateta could reportedly be available to Manchester United for around £30M — and on the surface, it looks like an absolute bargain. But is it actually a transfer United should make?In this video, I’m taking a deeper look at the recent Jean-Philippe Mateta to Manchester United speculation, his resurgence at Crystal Palace and why, despite everything he’s achieved at Selhurst Park, I’m not convinced he’s necessarily the right striker for United.Mateta’s representatives have reportedly offered the Crystal Palace striker to Manchester United as he looks for a potential move away from the club. With Palace previously agreeing a deal worth around £30M for him to join AC Milan, there’s an obvious argument that United could pick up an experienced and proven Premier League goalscorer for a relatively affordable fee.And Mateta’s recent record deserves respect. After a difficult start to life at Crystal Palace, Mateta completely transformed under Oliver Glasner. He became the focal point of Palace’s attack, produced some of the best goalscoring numbers of his career and established himself as one of the Premier League’s most effective traditional number nines. So why am I hesitant?I look at exactly HOW Mateta scored his goals for Crystal Palace, the system that helped get the best out of him and whether those conditions would actually exist at Manchester United. There’s a difference between signing a player because he’s been successful elsewhere and signing someone whose strengths specifically solve the problems within your own team. There are also questions surrounding his age, his long-term value, his recent knee issue and where exactly he would fit alongside Benjamin Sesko and Manchester United’s existing attacking options. At around £30M, Jean-Philippe Mateta could represent an excellent short-term Premier League signing. But after years of questionable recruitment at Old Trafford, United need to think beyond simply asking whether a player is good. They need to ask whether he’s right. So would I sign Jean-Philippe Mateta for Manchester United? Why was he so successful under Oliver Glasner? What happened during his proposed AC Milan transfer? And would spending £30M on another striker actually be the smartest use of United’s remaining transfer budget?Subscribe to Dev FC for my Manchester United reactions, transfer news, Premier League discussion, football analysis and plenty more throughout the 2026/27 season.Check out my LIMITED EDITION 'YANITED' clothing drop! 👉 https://mentalityclothing.co.ukRemember, the Dev FC way is all about building the biggest and HEALTHIEST community for football fans in the world. ♥️So make sure you like and SUBSCRIBE to be a part of it all. 📈FOLLOW ME ON SOCIAL MEDIA:📸 Instagram: @devsfootballclub 📹 TikTok: @devsfootballclub🐦 Twitter / X: @ammandev🎙️ Spotify: 'Dev FC'👋 Facebook / Meta: @Dev FC🤝 LinkedIn: 'Dev Bajwa'FOLLOW HOBBY FC:📸 Instagram: @hobbyfcofficial📹 TikTok: @hobbyfc🐦 Twitter / X: @hobby_fc📺 YouTube: 'Hobby FC'Jean-Philippe Mateta Manchester United, Mateta Man Utd, Jean-Philippe Mateta transfer, Mateta Crystal Palace, Manchester United Mateta transfer, Man United striker transfer, Manchester United transfer news, Man Utd transfer news, MUFC transfer news, Mateta £30m, Jean-Philippe Mateta goals, Jean-Philippe Mateta analysis, Mateta Oliver Glasner, Crystal Palace transfer news, Benjamin Sesko Manchester United, Manchester United striker, Man United new signings, Manchester United 2026/27, Premier League transfer news, summer transfer window 2026#manchesterunited #manutd #mufc #mateta #jeanphilippemateta

  • What Manchester United Fans Can Expect from Our Midfield Rebuild after the Summer Transfer Window
    2026/08/25

Manchester United's Midfield Rebuild is COMPLETE!Andrey Santos. Youri Tielemans. Carlos Baleba. But is it GOOD enough?Let's discuss...In this video, I’m taking a deeper look at Manchester United’s new midfield, how the pieces could fit together under Michael Carrick and whether the additions of Carlos Baleba, Andrey Santos and Youri Tielemans have finally fixed an area of the pitch that has caused United problems for years. On paper, the balance looks significantly better.Carlos Baleba provides the athleticism, physicality and ball-carrying ability United have desperately needed in the middle of the pitch. Andrey Santos offers another young, dynamic midfield profile with the ability to contribute at both ends, while Youri Tielemans brings Premier League experience, technical quality and the ability to control games from deeper areas. But building a successful midfield isn’t simply about collecting talented players.I look at how Baleba, Santos and Tielemans could complement each other, where Bruno Fernandes fits into Michael Carrick’s plans and what the new arrivals mean for the midfielders already at Old Trafford. There are questions around who starts, who provides the defensive security, who progresses the ball and whether United finally have enough depth to compete across an entire season. And ultimately, our expectations matter.Manchester United aren’t simply trying to improve on another disappointing campaign. With Michael Carrick reshaping the team and significant investment going into the squad, there needs to be a clear idea of what represents success in 2026/27. Is this now a midfield capable of getting Manchester United back into the Champions League? Can it compete with the best midfields in the Premier League? And how far away are United from building a team capable of challenging at the very top again?I also look beyond the individual names to assess whether the recruitment itself makes sense. After years of United signing midfielders without necessarily building a coherent midfield, Baleba, Santos and Tielemans potentially represent something different: players with distinct qualities being recruited to perform specific roles. So has Manchester United finally fixed its midfield — or is there still one crucial piece missing?Subscribe to Dev FC for my Manchester United reactions, transfer news, Premier League discussion, football analysis and plenty more throughout the 2026/27 season.Check out my LIMITED EDITION 'YANITED' clothing drop! 👉 https://mentalityclothing.co.ukRemember, the Dev FC way is all about building the biggest and HEALTHIEST community for football fans in the world. ♥️So make sure you like and SUBSCRIBE to be a part of it all. 📈FOLLOW ME ON SOCIAL MEDIA:📸 Instagram: @devsfootballclub 📹 TikTok: @devsfootballclub🐦 Twitter / X: @ammandev🎙️ Spotify: 'Dev FC'👋 Facebook / Meta: @Dev FC🤝 LinkedIn: 'Dev Bajwa'FOLLOW HOBBY FC:📸 Instagram: @hobbyfcofficial📹 TikTok: @hobbyfc🐦 Twitter / X: @hobby_fc📺 YouTube: 'Hobby FC'#manchesterunited #manutd #mufc #baleba #transfers

  • Why Carlos Baleba is the Ideal Signing for Manchester United's Midfield Rebuild
    2026/08/22

Manchester United and Carlos Baleba.Let's discuss...Carlos Baleba is FINALLY joining Manchester United — but after the season he’s just had at Brighton, is this actually the right time to sign him?In this video, I’m breaking down why Manchester United have maintained such a long-term interest in Carlos Baleba, why INEOS have been prepared to wait for their opportunity and why I think some of the negativity surrounding his performances last season needs some important context. There’s no hiding from the fact that Baleba had a difficult 2025/26 season. His performances dropped from the incredibly high standards he had previously shown at Brighton and that has inevitably created questions about Manchester United spending significant money on him now. But simply looking at last season and deciding Baleba suddenly became a bad player ignores much of what made him one of the most exciting young midfielders in the Premier League in the first place.I look at some of the biggest Carlos Baleba myths, what actually went wrong for him at Brighton last season and why his underlying qualities remain so attractive to Manchester United. His physicality, ball carrying, ability to cover huge areas of midfield, defensive potential and comfort receiving the ball under pressure give United a profile they have desperately lacked.More importantly, this isn’t a player Manchester United have suddenly decided they want.Baleba has been a long-term Manchester United transfer target under INEOS, with the club previously exploring the possibility of bringing him to Old Trafford. The problem was always making the deal make sense. Brighton were in an incredibly strong negotiating position and the enormous valuations previously associated with Baleba meant United would have been taking a massive financial gamble.Sometimes the smartest transfer decision is knowing when NOT to buy.I explain why waiting could ultimately prove crucial, how Baleba’s difficult season changed the circumstances surrounding a potential transfer and why Manchester United can now potentially get their long-term midfield target on significantly more favourable terms. So which Carlos Baleba are Manchester United actually signing: the player who struggled last season, or one of the Premier League’s most talented young midfielders ready to rediscover his best form at Old Trafford?Subscribe to Dev FC for my Manchester United reactions, transfer news, Premier League discussion, football analysis and plenty more throughout the 2026/27 season.Carlos Baleba Manchester United, Carlos Baleba Man Utd, Carlos Baleba transfer, Carlos Baleba analysis, Carlos Baleba Brighton, Carlos Baleba 2025/26, Carlos Baleba poor season, why Manchester United want Carlos Baleba, INEOS Carlos Baleba, Man United Baleba transfer, Manchester United transfer news, Man Utd transfer news, MUFC transfer news, Manchester United midfield, Manchester United new signings, Carlos Baleba skills, Carlos Baleba stats, Manchester United 2026/27, INEOS Manchester United transfers, Premier League transfer newsCheck out my LIMITED EDITION 'YANITED' clothing drop! 👉 https://mentalityclothing.co.ukRemember, the Dev FC way is all about building the biggest and HEALTHIEST community for football fans in the world. ♥️So make sure you like and SUBSCRIBE to be a part of it all. 📈FOLLOW ME ON SOCIAL MEDIA:📸 Instagram: @devsfootballclub 📹 TikTok: @devsfootballclub🐦 Twitter / X: @ammandev🎙️ Spotify: 'Dev FC'👋 Facebook / Meta: @Dev FC🤝 LinkedIn: 'Dev Bajwa'FOLLOW HOBBY FC:📸 Instagram: @hobbyfcofficial📹 TikTok: @hobbyfc🐦 Twitter / X: @hobby_fc📺 YouTube: 'Hobby FC'#manchesterunited #manutd #mufc #baleba #carlosbaleba
