• Stop Running On Empty After 50
    2026/07/21

You can be crushing it by every outside measure and still feel like you’re running on empty after 50. Deborah Mallow knows that feeling intimately because it nearly cost her everything before she found her way back to joy.

If you’re a woman who looks successful from the outside, but feels stressed, exhausted, and disconnected from your own joy on the inside, tune in as my guest, Deborah Mallow, explores how burnout takes hold and what it really takes to reconnect with your inner sunshine. Deborah is a former top-ranked biotech sales rep turned resilience expert and author of the award-winning book, “Six Steps to Fewer Days that Suck.” She relates the exact moment that forced her to admit something had to change, plus the science-backed, deceptively simple practices that helped her rebuild resilience and self-kindness one small win at a time. You’ll leave with tools for regulating stress, quieting your inner critic, and giving yourself permission to feel better, starting today.

    In this episode, you’ll discover:

    • Why burnout doesn’t always look like collapse. Sometimes it looks like “success” on paper while you’re falling apart on the inside
    • The neuroscience of small wins: how tiny daily habits rewire your brain for resilience and calm
    • A simple morning practice to interrupt the cortisol spike that fuels midlife stress and anxiety
    • Why it’s never too late to reinvent yourself — and how letting go of others’ judgment is the real permission slip you’ve been waiting for

    About My Guest

  • Design Your Life: How to Live Boldly on Purpose in Midlife
    2026/07/14

You don’t need a milestone or someone else’s permission to claim your freedom in midlife. You just need to stop waiting for it. Following up on last week’s episode about claiming your independence, the question to ask yourself now is “What am I free to create in this next chapter of my life?”

In this episode, I share a Daily Word reading that explores the concept of freedom and I get honest about the fear that keeps so many of us settling. You’ll learn what questions to ask yourself to help you get to the root of the fear that may be keeping you from living boldly and on purpose. And I offer a light language transmission to help you release whatever might be keeping you stuck. If you’re ready to stop waiting for permission and start designing your life your way, this one’s for you.

    In this episode, you’ll discover:

    • Why “free as a bird” isn’t just a metaphor: it’s a decision you get to make about your career, relationships, and legacy at this stage of life.
    • A simple line of questioning that helps you find the real fear underneath your fear, instead of stopping at the surface-level excuse.
    • Why settling for what’s comfortable can quietly cost you decades — my mother’s story, and the lesson I still carry from it.
    • How to turn every hard season you’ve survived into a “resilience journal” you can lean on the next time life gets hard.

  • Declare Your Independence After 50: It’s Time to Stop Settling
    2026/07/07

What if the most powerful act of midlife reinvention you could make this year wasn’t about leaving anything behind — but about fully claiming your right to stop settling and live life on your own terms?

July 4, 2026 commemorates America’s 250th birthday and it’s had me thinking about what independence really means for women over 50. In this solo episode, I share stories from my own life, growing up during the women’s liberation movement, watching my mom quietly settle in a marriage that dimmed her spirit, and my own journey of midlife self-discovery. I open up about the fears and limiting beliefs that hold so many of us back: financial insecurity, fear of being alone, and the old habit of people-pleasing.

I also share a short light language transmission to help you release whatever’s been keeping you small. By the end of this episode, I hope you feel ready to write your own declaration of independence — a mindset shift toward living life on your terms, free from limiting beliefs, free from relationships that no longer serve you, and free from anything that was never yours to carry.

    In this episode, you’ll discover:

    • Why declaring independence after 50 is more about releasing limiting beliefs (like unworthiness and fear of others’ opinions) than about leaving a person or situation.
    • How watching my mom stay in an unfulfilling marriage taught me that financial fear can keep even strong women from claiming what they want
    • Why true independence in midlife requires support (the colonies didn’t do it alone, and neither should you)
    • A simple mirror work practice to build confidence after 50 and reclaim your visibility when the world tries to make you feel invisible
    • How to start writing your own declaration of independence — naming exactly what you’re letting go of and what you’re choosing instead

  • Why 50+ Feels Hard (and How to Fix It)
    2026/06/30
Nobody told you that 50+ would feel this hard. You may be feeling a strange mix of freedom and fear as you ponder this next chapter. That’s exactly what certified financial planner and PhD researcher Gregg Lunceford calls the Third Age: a life bonus most of us never planned for, and the first time in your life when you truly get to define what’s next on your own terms. Whether you’re approaching retirement, navigating a career shift, or emerging from years of caregiving, this interview was made for you. The author of Exit from Work, Gregg has spent two decades watching financially prepared people still struggle to enjoy their 50s, 60s, and beyond. His finding? The real barriers aren’t financial. They’re about identity, purpose, connection, and meaning – the things no retirement calculator can quantify. Together, Gregg and I unpack the psychology of life transitions for women over 50, naming the invisible losses that come with leaving a career or role-based identity, and pointing toward something far more alive on the other side. You’ll leave this conversation with a new framework for thinking about your Third Age, a deeper appreciation for the unique strengths you’ve built across decades of reinvention, and permission to pursue meaningful play instead of just filling your days. In this episode, you’ll discover: Why the Third Age — that 20-to-30-year “life bonus” after midlife — is the first time you’re truly free to define life on your own terms. The three non-financial things work provides (psychological success, socialization, and structured time) and why replacing them matters as much as your retirement account. Why women over 50 are often better positioned than men to thrive in this transition — and the overlooked strengths you’ve been building all along. How to move from a bucket-list mentality to meaningful play — doing things that light you up, not just fill your calendar. Why developing a Third Age identity needs intention, and how to start that conversation with yourself (and your partner) before the transition happens. The role gratitude plays in mental health, clarity, and finding your next step when everything feels uncertain. About Gregg Lunceford Gregg Lunceford is a Certified Financial Planner, Managing Director and Wealth Advisor at Mesirow, and holds a PhD in retirement and late-stage career transition from Case Western Reserve University. With over two decades of experience guiding adults through one of life’s biggest leaps, Gregg discovered early on that financial readiness is only half the story. His research and his book, Exit from Work, focus on the psychological, social, and identity shifts that make the Third Age either a season of flourishing or a painful freefall. He’s also a committed philanthropist, serving on the board of the Juvenile Protective Agency in Chicago. • Value Your Uniqueness: Claiming Your Voice in Midlife
    2026/06/23

Midlife is not a time for hiding behind the polished, people-pleasing version of yourself. It’s time for your unique voice to be heard. If you’ve spent decades shrinking to fit, staying quiet to keep the peace, or letting everyone else define what “good enough” looks like, this episode is your permission slip to stop.

This week I’m diving into the V in the L.O.V.E. Method — Value Your Uniqueness — and what it really means to claim the identity that belongs to you in this season of life. I share a personal story about underpricing my own work that taught me more about worthiness than any coaching program ever did. I’ll walk you through practical ways to uncover the gifts you’ve been taking for granted, and I close with a live light language transmission to help release what’s been keeping your true voice quiet. By the end of this episode, you’ll have a clearer picture of who you are, what you bring, and how to let that be the foundation of your next chapter.

    In this episode, you’ll discover:

    • Why so many women learn to hide their light long before midlife — and how that pattern quietly follows you into your 50s and 60s
    • The real cost of not valuing your own talents, told through a four-year story about underpricing my copywriting services
    • A simple but powerful exercise for uncovering the gifts you’ve been taking for granted
    • How journaling, testimonials, and honest feedback from people who know you can reveal your unique value
    • A live light language transmission to help release old blocks around worthiness

  • Confessions of a Midlife Self-Saboteur
    2026/06/16

Started strong, then quietly stopped and judged yourself for it? You’re not alone. In this episode, I confess my status as a midlife self-saboteur when it comes to food and my business – and the fear of success hiding underneath it all. Plus, you’ll hear about five simple tools I’m employing to help myself and other self-saboteurs get off the hamster wheel, one day at a time.

If you’ve ever set a goal with the best of intentions, made real progress, and then watched yourself quietly slide back into old patterns, this episode is for you. We’ll talk about why self-sabotage after 50 often isn’t a willpower problem at all. Sometimes it’s fear of failure. Or fear of success. Together, we’ll move through the emotions that come with this kind of honesty: frustration, shame, relief, and ultimately hope. I’ll walk you through the tools I’m using right now to interrupt the cycle and close with a light language transmission to help release whatever might be keeping you stuck.

Wherever you are in your own cycle of starting and stopping, I hope this conversation reminds you of something important: you’ve done this before, and you can do it again.

    In this episode, you’ll discover:

    • Why self-sabotage often shows up as a fear of success, not a fear of failure — and what to do when you notice it
    • A simple 5-minute pause practice (I use the Triple Flame app) to interrupt emotional eating or procrastination before it takes over
    • How to use curious, non-judgmental journaling to uncover what’s really driving a behavior you want to change
    • A mirror affirmation practice to remind yourself: you’ve succeeded before, and you can succeed again
    • Why “one day at a time” might be the simplest and most powerful tool for breaking any cycle — in your health, your business, or your life
