On this VIDEO episode of Southeast Iowa Today John Bain attends the Carlos Lopez V Darin Stater (Henry County Attorney) Case: 08441 CVEQ006990 (Henry) trial at the Henry County Courthouse in Mount Pleasant, Iowa. Henry County Deputy Carlos Lopez is having his day in Court against County Attorney Darin Stater. Mr. Stater placed Deputy Lopez on the Brady-Giglio list back in 2023 and today Deputy Lopez fights to have his name removed from this List. John had media clearance to cover this entire trial and as you will see, the County Attorney did not want media or public in the courtroom. Attorney for Deputy Lopez, Charles Gribble agreed that the media and public should not be allowed to hear the evidence but also mentioned that it was okay with him if they were allowed in for opening and closing statements. Judge Thomas Reidel dismissed the media and the public. They were not allowed that privilege. It’s all happening today August 26, 2025.
