TJ Gilray started his career as every dentist’s favorite guy - the infamous cold-calling salesman😏 He then went on to grow within the dental industry and has focused on dental software for the past 10 years, eventually finding his way to Toothy.AI, an insurance automation software made to make dentists’ lives easier!

TJ is originally from San Diego and eventually settled in Rowlett, Texas where he grew up after his dad retired from the Navy. He is a dog person who has grown to adore his only pet, a cat named Marley. He eventually moved to Utah and quickly started working for dental software company, Social Dental, which rebranded to Banyan. From there, he joined Weave, where he would stay for the next 6 years. That’s where he was really able to learn and get involved with understanding the dental industry on a personal level. That’s where he connected with our very own Dr. Chad Duplantis, and he has finally found a way to work with him and the group again!

He is always looking for the next best thing to offer to practices, especially when he can be sure it’s a true benefit to everyone involved. Toothy.AI reached out to him just last year to open up their sales team and after meeting with the founders and learning what the system can do for insurance RCM, it was a no-brainer for him to join!

Dr. Sompop Bencharit earned his DDS and Diploma in Prosthodontics from Chulalongkorn University in Bangkok, Thailand. He furthered his education at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (UNC), where he obtained a Certificate and Master's Degree in Prosthodontics, a PhD in Oral Biology, and a Certificate in Clinical Research. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Prosthodontics and a Fellow of the American College of Prosthodontists (ACP), the Pierre Fauchard Academy, and the International College of Dentists.

Dr. Bencharit was most recently Professor, Associate Dean for Innovation, and Chief Innovation Officer at the Workman School of Dental Medicine, High Point University. Previously, he served as a Professor and Assistant Dean for Innovation and the Founding Chair of the Department of Reconstructive and Rehabilitation Sciences at the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) College of Dental Medicine. Dr. Bencharit was the Founding Director of Digital Dentistry Technologies and Director of Clinical Research at Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU).
