In his 1975 book, Angels: God's Secret Agents, Dr. Billy Graham said he had never heard anyone preach a sermon on angels. And... I'm pretty sure I haven't either. Most of us have heard Bible stories that included references to angels. But somewhere along the line, our basic understanding got mixed with cultural cartoonish characteristics, and what we think we know about what an angel is and does has become more fiction than fact. Last week, we began unpacking who the angels really are... this week we'll dive deeper into what they really do.

Our service is at 11 AM on Sunday. You can connect with us online by clicking the "Join Us Sunday" button on our website or via our YouTube channel. Or, better yet, come worship with us in person! October is here -- along with all things fall -- changing leaves, corn mazes, cider doughnuts, and trips to the pumpkin patch. Then, there's the one thing I dislike even more than pumpkin spice anything... horror movies. They are the worst. Mostly because they are poorly written and produced, and filled with atrocious acting. And if you think Hollywood has messed with our understanding of angels... their portrayal of all things 'paranormal' is really off the rails. This week, we're headed to the dark side - to unpack the realm of the rebellious and demonic. Not for the sake of thrill or fascination, but because it's more than just a Hollywood horror movie meant to give you a scare. Our enemies (yes, plural) are very real. And the only way to effectively push back the darkness is to be prepared for it.

Come join us this Sunday for week 5 of our series, Unseen: What You Don’t See Is Still There, as we sort what is real from what is superstition. We'll begin to unpack how the evil forces of the unseen realm operate and how to recognize the way they might be impacting you.

It's one of our core beliefs as followers of Jesus. The apostle Paul put it this way in his second letter to the Corinthians... For we walk by faith, not by sight. But apparently, some of our furry friends aren't convinced. You've probably seen the videos... the ones of cats who are terrified of 3-D images that look like holes in the ground? Some of those poor cats react so violently to what they think they see, they don't even realize they aren't falling! This Sunday, we're beginning a new 6-part series we've called Unseen: What You Don't See is Still There. While we claim to walk by faith and not sight, most of the time we are so fixated on what we think we see, that we don't give much thought to what might be going on that we don't see! But just because we don't see it doesn't mean it isn't there! I invite you to join us as we begin our exploration of what the Bible has to say about the unseen world in which we live.

Last Sunday, we began a new sermon series we've titled Unseen: What You Don't See is Still There.

There's an old hymn that begins with the words, "Open my eyes and let me see, glimpses of truth Thou hast for me... Over the next few weeks, we'll be unpacking truths in God's Word about realities that exist, but that we can't actually see. And as we do, my prayer for all of us is that God will open our spiritual eyes to see more of what’s really happening in our world - beyond what we can see with our eyes - and that He will give us a greater understanding of what our role in it should be.

Grandparents cuddle and coo over a new grandbaby’s arrival and softly someone whispers, “What a sweet little angel.” Grandchildren, all grown up, gather to honor and remember the life of a beloved grandparent and someone whispers, “Heaven just gained another angel.” From the cradle to the grave, our American understanding and beliefs about angels have been shaped more by advertising agents and Hollywood screenwriters than scripture. So what can we know for sure about angels? What misunderstandings and assumptions have we accepted as truth? And, what truths do we need to know to have a more accurate understanding? Join us this Sunday for week 3 of our series, Unseen: What You Don’t See Is Still There, as we untangle the truth from the tall tales and gain a deeper insight to these divinely created beings and the roles they play in realms both seen and unseen.

This Sunday we're wrapping up our series, Earth 1.0: In the Beginning…the World We Lost. We've spent most of this summer looking deeper than most of us ever have at the story of creation, the fall, and the ripple effect of sin that has echoed through time. Along the way, we've discovered it's not just humanity that's been impacted, but all of creation. We've learned new things, connected dots in ways we never connected them before, and gained a deeper understanding of the world as it once was and how that impacts us today in the world that exists now. In this final message, we're unpacking what really happened at the Tower of Babel and God's ultimate purpose in the dispersing of the human family.

No beating around the bush - I'm just gonna say it... Noah was a weirdo. At least... that's what everyone in his neighborhood thought. I mean, compare Noah to any of the other guys in his Rotary Club and you'd certainly be singing, "One of these things is not like the other..." But in Noah's case, being a weirdo was a good thing. Because Noah's kind of 'weird' was righteous, blameless, and obedient to God. Our service is at 11 AM on Sunday. Boundaries… you’ve been learning about them since you were old enough to hold a crayon. Color inside the lines and you get a pretty picture. Scribble with no regard for the lines and you end up with colorful chaos. In a coloring book, ignoring the lines and crossing the boundaries doesn’t matter. But the boundaries that exist in our world serve significant purposes, and crossing them sometimes comes with serious consequences. We are in week 8 of our series, Earth 1.0: In the Beginning…the World We Lost. Over the past several weeks, we've been taking a deeper look at the ultimate origin story recorded in the book of Genesis. And we're discovering that there's more to the story we think we know, than we ever realized. This week, we'll see boundaries not just crossed, but broken; and the result is not just chaotic, it's catastrophic. Our service is at 11 AM on Sunday.
