In his 1975 book, Angels: God's Secret Agents, Dr. Billy Graham said he had never heard anyone preach a sermon on angels. And... I'm pretty sure I haven't either. Most of us have heard Bible stories that included references to angels. But somewhere along the line, our basic understanding got mixed with cultural cartoonish characteristics, and what we think we know about what an angel is and does has become more fiction than fact. Last week, we began unpacking who the angels really are... this week we'll dive deeper into what they really do.

Our service is at 11 AM on Sunday. You can connect with us online by clicking the "Join Us Sunday" button on our website or via our YouTube channel. Or, better yet, come worship with us in person! October is here -- along with all things fall -- changing leaves, corn mazes, cider doughnuts, and trips to the pumpkin patch. Then, there's the one thing I dislike even more than pumpkin spice anything... horror movies. They are the worst. Mostly because they are poorly written and produced, and filled with atrocious acting. And if you think Hollywood has messed with our understanding of angels... their portrayal of all things 'paranormal' is really off the rails. This week, we're headed to the dark side - to unpack the realm of the rebellious and demonic. Not for the sake of thrill or fascination, but because it's more than just a Hollywood horror movie meant to give you a scare. Our enemies (yes, plural) are very real. And the only way to effectively push back the darkness is to be prepared for it.

Come join us this Sunday for week 5 of our series, Unseen: What You Don’t See Is Still There, as we sort what is real from what is superstition. We'll begin to unpack how the evil forces of the unseen realm operate and how to recognize the way they might be impacting you.

It's one of our core beliefs as followers of Jesus. The apostle Paul put it this way in his second letter to the Corinthians... For we walk by faith, not by sight. But apparently, some of our furry friends aren't convinced. You've probably seen the videos... the ones of cats who are terrified of 3-D images that look like holes in the ground? Some of those poor cats react so violently to what they think they see, they don't even realize they aren't falling! This Sunday, we're beginning a new 6-part series we've called Unseen: What You Don't See is Still There. While we claim to walk by faith and not sight, most of the time we are so fixated on what we think we see, that we don't give much thought to what might be going on that we don't see! But just because we don't see it doesn't mean it isn't there! I invite you to join us as we begin our exploration of what the Bible has to say about the unseen world in which we live.
