At 25, I was a proud homeowner. For ten years, that house represented my independence… until the real estate crash of 2007 took it away. Losing my home meant losing more than walls — it meant moving back in with my parents, where I felt unwelcome and constantly judged for the things that didn’t go “right” in my life.

But here’s where the story shifts.
While studying at George Mason University, I spent 30 days in Milan, Italy — and it was there I found my sparkle again. The fashion, the beauty, the freedom of exploring a new world reminded me of who I really was.

Three years later, I left my parents’ home for good. The apartment I moved into wasn’t much, but it was ours. And more importantly, it was the start of reclaiming my joy, independence, and radiance.
