Joining us in the Pod Lounge is Tony Wright, author of the true crime mystery book Things Aren't Right: The Disappearance of the Yuba County Five, which explores the bizarre and tragic 1978 disappearance of Ted Weiher, Jack Madruga, Bill Sterling, Jackie Huett, and Gary Mathias in the Plumas National Forest in Northern California.

In the first segment, Tony describes his history as a writer and archivist, and how he got interested in the Yuba County Five Mystery. Then, he walks us through an in depth step by step chronology of the case, including the initial trip to the basketball game, the disappearance, the controversial statements of Joseph Schons, and the initial aftermath following the discovery in the forestry trailer.

In the second segment, we dive into the various theories surrounding the disappearance, including Joseph Schones involvement, the potential catalyst of Gary Mathias’ past, the “town bully” theory, and even….
