Born a “blue baby” in the 1960s, Chris underwent multiple surgeries, including aortic and pulmonary valve replacements with rare St. Jude’s mechanical valves in 1984. Despite living with only one functioning lung and navigating ongoing health challenges, including a current wait for a heart transplant due to a persistent infection, Chris’s faith remains unshaken. Now 60, he reflects on a life sustained by God’s grace, from his career as an electrical engineer working on movie and security systems across the U.S. and Canada to adapting to a “new normal” after a severe illness in 2008.
