On Saturday night, Nebraska didn’t just lose a game — they lost their quarterback and emotional engine. Dylan Raiola is out for the season with a broken fibula. Before leaving the game, Raiola had this team up 14–6 and was pushing for another statement win.

Matt Rhule revealed after the game that Raiola tried to go back in — helmet on, begging for a chance to finish the fight — but Rhule wouldn’t risk further injury:

Raiola finishes the year throwing for 2,000 yards, 18 touchdowns, and just six interceptions, establishing himself as the future of Nebraska football.
