Norman Silverster is joined by Graeme Pearson, former Director General of the Scottish Crime and Drug Enforcement Agency, on this week’s Criminal Record podcast to continue our examination of the long running Lyons and Daniel gangland feud which saw two Lyons family members Ross Monaghan and Eddie Lyons jnr shot dead last month in a bar owned by Monaghan in Spain. Closer to home police have been investigating a series of targeted fire bombing and other attacks against Daniel family members and associates since March in both Edinburgh and Glasgow. We will also take a look at plans by First Minister John Swinney for an anti youth violence summit to tackle the problem of knife crime among the young. Graeme Pearson is the former Director General of the Scottish Crime and Drug Enforcement Agency formed in 2001 to target organised crime in Scotland. Mr Pearson led the organisation between 2004 and 2007 where a number of major criminals were brought to justice including the notorious Jamie "Iceman" Stevenson. After a distinguished police career Mr Pearson became a Labour MSP and served as the party's justice spokesperson and is now an Honorary Professor at Glasgow University.
