  • Natalie Martin Murder Case: Myrtle Beach Graduation Trip Explained | True Crime
    2026/11/05
In June 2023, a group of recent Ohio high school graduates traveled 500 miles to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, to celebrate. One morning, a terrified friend called 911 from their rented condo. Eighteen-year-old Natalie Martin, a preschool teacher who loved hunting and fishing and had a reputation for fearlessness, was lying on the floor of a bedroom locked from the inside.

Her ex-boyfriend, Blake, was beside her, and he confessed at the scene. Behind the picture-perfect image of a high school couple, friends described a pattern of control. He went through her phone, tracked who she spoke to, and became jealous over innocent conversations. After he shoved Natalie in front of others that spring, she ended the relationship. A month later, he sent her a text threatening to hurt any man she dated. Natalie stood her ground, and went on the trip anyway. That night, according to the case, a message from another man on her phone set him off.

Despite the confession, the court allowed him to go home to Ohio on bond, and Natalie’s father waited 635 days for justice. In March 2025, Blake pleaded guilty and was sentenced to 45 years in prison without parole. This episode follows Natalie’s life, the warning signs her friends and family saw, the night itself, and the long fight for a sentence.

Content note: This episode discusses domestic violence and the killing of a young woman. Listener discretion is advised. If you or someone you know is in a controlling or abusive relationship, please contact a local domestic violence hotline.

  • Costa Rica Triple Murder 2017: Isamar, Andrés and Kendall Explained | True Crime
    2026/11/05
In August 2017, a Costa Rican television personality, her boyfriend and her 17-year-old brother left home in a luxury BMW worth about $150,000. A short time later, all three smartphones went offline at virtually the same moment. The car vanished. There was no ransom demand, no phone call and no sign of a struggle.

Two of them were found dead on a remote riverbank, and the teenager wasn’t found for another week. Traffic cameras showed a stranger driving the BMW at dawn, followed closely by a dark SUV. The car had no visible damage, and there were no skid marks or broken glass on the road. That meant the victims had stopped willingly, for someone they had no reason to fear. Investigators believed the case came down to a hidden fortune. According to reports, the boyfriend had come into a large amount of cash and illegal goods belonging to someone else. A trusted associate allegedly gave away his routines.

That man was shot dead before police could question him. The trail then led to a group of current and former police officers who had made the attack look like a routine stop. Three men were convicted in 2020 and sentenced to between 65 and 80 years, and a fourth was acquitted. This episode follows the case minute by minute, from the missing phones and the BMW on camera to the arrests and the trial.

Content note: This episode discusses the murder of two young adults and a teenager. Listener discretion is advised.
