Some cases were closed. Others were just buried.

Crime Night is the podcast that digs into the cases law enforcement left behind — cold cases, unsolved murders, and criminal investigations that never made it to a courtroom. Every episode pulls from court documents, police records, and firsthand reporting to reconstruct what really happened, and why the system failed to find answers.

This isn't true crime as entertainment. It's true crime as accountability. Host Seth approaches each real crime case with the methodology of an investigative journalist — no speculation dressed up as fact, no dramatization for shock value. Just a clear, unflinching look at criminal investigation failures, overlooked evidence, and the people still waiting for justice.

Seth spent years studying criminal justice and has dedicated his work to amplifying cases that deserve a second look. His background gives him the analytical edge to break down complex forensic and procedural details without losing the human story at the center.

Crime Night is built for listeners who are done with surface-level storytelling. If you want real cases examined with depth and integrity — not just a retelling — this show was made for you.

New episodes drop everyday, running between 18 and 25 minutes. Long enough to go deep. Focused enough to keep you locked in.

Follow Crime Night on your platform of choice and never miss a case.© 2026 OBOMEDIA Creators

The poisoner who bought her freedom with fame: The crime of Yiya Murano

Three women died of natural causes in 1979 Buenos Aires. All had lent money to the same person. An autopsy revealed cyanide in the first victim - and triggered the discovery of an almost perfect serial homicide pattern.

In this episode, we explore how a neighborhood con artist murdered Nilda Gamba, Lelia Formisano, and Carmen del Giorgio with precise doses of poison, how her own notebook destroyed her alibi, and why an Appeals Court revoked a release sentence three years later. The unresolved questions: where did she obtain cyanide? Was the forensic doctor an accomplice? And the most disturbing question - how did a serial killer sentenced to life get out in 16 years to become a television celebrity?

Victims: Nilda Gamba, Lelia Formisano, Carmen del Giorgio
    Date: February-March 1979
    Location: Buenos Aires, Argentina
Status: Sentenced to life, released for good behavior

    - Yiya visited each victim under the pretext of tea and disappeared after signing debt promissory notes.
    - The building manager saw her take a jar from Carmen's table and put it in her purse minutes before she died.
    - Her personal notebook contained the number of Diana Venturini, Carmen's daughter - destroying her alibi of looking for that agenda.
    - Sentenced to life in 1985 after a private confession to her son, released in 1993 after only 16 years due to the two-for-one law.

  • The biochemist who dissolved her husband alive
    2026/08/06
The biochemist who dissolved her husband alive: The murder of Timothy Schuster

A blue barrel in a Fresno warehouse contained what was left of Timothy Schuster after being dissolved in hydrochloric acid. His ex-wife Larissa, a successful biochemical laboratory entrepreneur, had purchased that same chemical by the liters - the same one she used for research. How did a mother of two plan the murder of her children's father methodically?

In this episode, we explore the trail of internet searches about tissues and acids, the documented bulk purchases of hydrochloric acid, and the confession of assistant James Fagón that reconstructs every step of the crime: the stun gun, the live transfer to the barrel, and the planned disintegration. How did Larissa go from a bitter divorce to executing one of the most brutal crimes in California?

    Victim: Timothy Schuster
    Date: July 9-10, 2003
    Location: Fresno, California
Status: Sentenced to life in prison without parole (2008)

    - Larissa bought hydrochloric acid in anomalous quantities months before the crime, while her laboratory normally used liters annually.
    - Her computer contained specific searches about "animal tissues" and "sulfuric acid" - evidence of deliberate planning.
    - Timothy was incapacitated with a stun gun and placed alive in the barrel; the body took days to disintegrate within the acid.
    - Larissa denied contact with Timothy during interrogation, but her phone found in her car contained records that directly contradicted her.

  • The chest of broken dreams: Jeff Machado

The chest of the broken dream: Jeff Machado: The murder of Jeff Machado

An actor disappears after a job promise at Globo. Four months later, her body is found in a chest under concrete, buried in the yard of someone who pretended to be her friend. The killer made a fatal mistake: his own letter revealed where he had hidden the victim.

In this episode, we explore how a scam led to premeditated murder, unveiling the contradictions that sank Bruno: the house rented a month before with a well already dug, the text messages riddled with spelling errors that betrayed the impostor, and the confession that turned the supposed alibi into incriminating evidence. How did the fictional account of a non-existent "Marcelo" accelerate the judicial outcome?

    Victim: Jeff Machado
    Date: January 23, 2023
Location: Campo Grande, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil
Status: Premeditated murder; trial in hearing (October 2023)

    - The house was rented in December 2022, a month before the crime, with a well already excavated.
    - Jeff's 13 dogs appeared hungry and injured on the street; she would never have abandoned them voluntarily.
    - The subsequent text messages contained spelling errors and expressions foreign to Jeff, alerting her mother from the first day.
    - The letter that Bruno delivered to reduce his responsibility introduced a fictitious "Marcelo" with no backing from cameras, records, or witnesses.
