  • Ignite Your Business: Website Design, Messaging Mastery, & Navigating AI Search
    2026/02/12

    Send a text

Today, I reunite with Lori Lyons- whom I met on the New Media Cruise (formally, Podcasters Cruise)- to talk about what it really takes to “ignite your business” in a world full of copy-and-paste websites, AI-generated content, and shrinking attention spans. We get into why a website still matters—whether you’re an entrepreneur, coach, creative, or artist—and how your website should function as a living business card that builds trust and credibility.

Lori breaks down how she had to pivot from traditional marketing and packaging into digital marketing, WordPress, and eventually website design after being laid off. Through this, we discuss markets shift, how technology changes consumer behavior, and why your ability to adapt matters more than ever.

Together, we also get into the importance of messaging. Ms. Lyons explains why so many business owners lose clients simply because they aren’t clear about what they do, who they serve, and what problems they solve. We cover common branding mistakes, why “symptoms” often sell better than labels, and how clarity beats cleverness when people are deciding whether to listen, click, or buy.

We also talk professionalism and presentation—especially for podcast guests and high-ticket offers. Ms. Lyons shares why showing up polished isn’t vanity, it’s credibility, and how basic standards can influence trust, authority, and client decisions.

  • Gut Health, Discernment, And Aligning With God's Design
    2026/02/04

    Send us a text

Today, I sit down with Jen Hewson, functional medicine practitioner, minister, and founder of Sifting Life Ministries, to explore the powerful intersection of faith, holistic health, addiction recovery, and trauma healing. Dr. Hewson explains why the human body should be treated not as a broken machine, but as a divine miracle created by God, and how modern medicine often ignores the spiritual roots of sickness.

In this conversation, I explore Dr. Hewson’s personal journey through childhood trauma, addiction, and a life-threatening cancer diagnosis that forced her to question Western medical models and seek healing through prayer, repentance, functional medicine, and lifestyle transformation. We discuss gut health, anxiety, depression, addiction, discernment, and the biblical concept of pharmakeia, as well as how unresolved fear, unforgiveness, and generational patterns can manifest as physical disease.

We also dive into Dr. Hewson’s book Gut Instincts, where she outlines a faith-centered approach to healing that combines Scripture, science, and practical application. From addiction recovery and sobriety to leadership alignment and street-level ministry, this episode emphasizes why true healing requires both spiritual restoration and physical stewardship. This is a conversation about discernment, repentance, discipline, and returning home to God’s original design.

  • Silent No Longer: Brining Toxic Relationships Out From Behind Closed Doors
    2026/02/02

    Send us a text

Today, I sit down with Mesha Paul, survivor, author, and host of the Silent No Longer Podcast, to have a conversation about domestic violence, childhood trauma, and the long journey of healing. Ms. Paul shares her story of growing up in instability, experiencing long-term sexual abuse, and later finding herself in multiple toxic and abusive relationships without realizing that what she was living was not normal.

In this episode, we explore how domestic violence goes far beyond physical harm. Ms. Paul shares that there are multiple types of domestic abuse, including emotional, psychological, and intimidation-based abuse that often goes unrecognized. We discuss how silence, fear, children, financial dependence, and misplaced forgiveness keep people trapped in harmful relationships, and how abuse behind closed doors is often invisible to friends, family, and even churches.

We also discuss Ms. Paul’s faith journey, her book Behind Closed Doors, and how learning God’s definition of love became a turning point in her healing. From generational trauma and abandonment to boundaries, self-worth, and learning to speak out, this episode emphasizes why survivors must recover loudly so others do not suffer quietly.

  • Why Trauma Breaks Faith And How God Restores It With Dr. Larry Brant
    2026/01/31

    Send us a text

Today, I sit down with Larry Brant, a U.S. Navy chaplain, former civilian pastor, and author of Restoring the Broken, to explore the intersection of faith, mental health, and moral injury within the military and first responder communities. Dr. Brant shares his remarkable journey from decades of church ministry to answering God’s call to military chaplaincy at age 45, including his transformation through discipline, education, and service.

In this episode, we explore how moral injury differs from PTSD and why guilt, shame, and ethical conflict often cause service members to withdraw from faith, family, and community. Dr. Brant explains how moral injury convinces individuals they are unforgivable or beyond restoration, leading to isolation, addiction, and suicidal ideation. We also discuss his extensive experience in suicide prevention, including the LivingWorks SafeTALK and ASIST programs, and how listening, presence, and proper intervention can save lives.

We also examine how faith-based approaches can help restore those broken by trauma, particularly when paired with community and compassionate leadership. Dr. Brant shares why God is a God of restoration, how Scripture speaks directly to guilt and despair, and why churches must better understand moral injury to serve those already sitting in their pews.

  • Forgive And Protect: Escaping Toxic Cycles Without Becoming Resentful Or Naïve
    2026/01/29

    Send us a text

Today, I read a chapter from the Survival To Thrival book series focused on forgiveness, boundaries, unity, and emotional safety. I open with Proverbs 17:9 and explain why forgiveness is not a simplistic “clean slate,” but a choice that can either heal or enable depending on how it is practiced. I use my personal history with severe family dysfunction to frame the chapter’s main idea: forgiveness can be real, deep, and freeing—while still requiring wisdom, limits, and accountability.

I break down the difference between “forgive and forget” versus what I teach as “forgive and protect.” In this episode, I define protection as respectful boundaries, consistent accountability, and refusing to be emotionally held hostage—especially when someone’s patterns repeatedly endanger you or others. I also connect this to what I’ve learned through exposure to addiction dynamics, where loved ones often forgive in a way that unintentionally enables destructive behavior.

I add an essential warning that isn’t stated directly in the chapter: unregulated forgiveness can trap people inside toxic relationships, including situations of domestic violence and sexual assault. I clarify that forgiveness never equals permission for continued harm, and it does not require forgetting, tolerating danger, or surrendering your voice. In the end, I lay out a balanced model: choose freedom over bitterness, pursue unity where possible, and maintain your safety through boundaries that prevent the past from repeating.

  • Your Idol: K-Pop Demon Hunters & The Bible Warning Hidden In Plain Sight
    2026/01/27

    Send us a text

Today on Radiating Faith, the ministry subseries on the Couple O’ Nukes podcast, I deliver a solo sermon that examines the hidden Biblical parallels inside K-Pop Demon Hunters by breaking down the lyrics of the song “Your Idol.” I use the song as a case study to teach what Scripture consistently warns about: idolatry is not only ancient statue-worship, but a modern heart-posture where something other than God becomes your refuge, identity, and source of security.

I walk through how the lyrics mirror the spiritual mechanics of idolatry—obsession, dependence, and substitution—especially the promises of sanctuary, salvation, and “freedom” without repentance. I connect these themes to key passages including Ezekiel 14:3–6 (idols set up in the heart), Jeremiah 2:13 (broken cisterns that cannot hold water), Jonah 2:8 (clinging to worthless idols), 2 Peter 2:19 and 1 Corinthians 6:12 (mastery and slavery), and additional warnings from Psalm 115 and Isaiah 44 about blindness and becoming like what we worship.

This sermon also addresses how “anytime it hurts, play another verse” reflects unhealthy coping, addiction patterns, and counterfeit comfort—where pain becomes a trigger for repeated dependence instead of surrender to God. I unpack the line “I’m the only one who will love your sins” to clarify the difference between God loving sinners while opposing sin, versus idols and demonic systems enabling sin as the very basis of their “love.”

I close with practical self-examination: identifying what functions as an idol today, how false promises replace Biblical refuge, and what accountability and repentance look like when something has your attention, desire, and devotion more than God.

  • Law Enforcement & Military Leadership: Decisions That Cost Lives And Retention
    2026/01/25

    Send us a text

Today, I sit down with Brent Colbert, a law enforcement officer, leadership doctoral student, and host of The First Responder Playbook, to have an honest and unfiltered conversation about leadership failures in high-risk professions.

Mr. Colbert and I share how poor leadership—not the job itself—is often the driving force behind burnout, mental health decline, and retention problems in law enforcement, military, and first responder communities.

In this episode, we explore how complacency, emotional decision-making, and ego-driven authority can turn routine calls into life-or-death situations. Mr. Colbert walks through real-world critical incidents, including pursuits, suicides, and command failures, to illustrate how leadership behavior directly affects officer safety, morale, and long-term psychological health. We also discuss why “time served” does not equal leadership competence and why managing people is not the same as leading them.

We also examine post-critical-incident care, peer support, EMDR therapy, and the alarming lack of transition planning for first responders leaving service. Mr. Colbert explains why agencies must take responsibility for mental health follow-ups, retirement care, and human-centered leadership models.

  • Faith, Insomnia, & The Science Of Sleep With Dr. Benjamin Long
    2026/01/23

    Send us a text

Today, I sit down with Benjamin Long, a board-certified sleep medicine physician and U.S. Air Force doctor, to discuss one of the most neglected pillars of physical, mental, and spiritual health: sleep. Dr. Long explains how modern culture, technology, and chronic stress have reshaped our relationship with rest—and why sleep deprivation is quietly fueling anxiety, depression, burnout, and poor decision-making across all age groups.

In this conversation, I explore how sleep issues affect children, adolescents, military families, first responders, and high-performing adults. Dr. Long breaks down circadian rhythms, insomnia, screen use, energy drinks, and the biological realities behind sleep pressure and fatigue. We also address the growing mental-health crisis among youth and why sleep disruption is often a hidden contributor to anxiety, emotional instability, and suicidal ideation.

We also discuss Dr. Long’s book, Sleep Habits Journal, which bridges sleep science with Christian theology. He explains why sleep is not a weakness, but a gift from God, and how faith-based practices, prayer, and disciplined habits can help reframe sleepless nights.
