  • Supreme Court strikes down Student Loan Debt Forgiveness and decides for Religious Freedom over Colorado's Anti-Discrimination Act

    This episode is centered on three cases and two consequential Supreme Court decision that were released June 30th, 2023. The first two cases are centered around Student Loan Foregiveness and President Biden’s plan to absolve borrowers of $10,000 or $20,000 dollars of student loan debt. The third case discusses a website designers who sued the State of Colorado because she felt the Colorado Anti-Discrimination Act violated her Right to Freedom of religion. Alleging that the act could result in her having to design websites for a gay wedding that she does not believe should occur. If you have any history of following the Supreme Court you may find these decisions mark the continuation of the sharp contrast of the liberal leaning Supreme Court this Country has enjoyed for almost a century and the conservative Supreme Court this country has currently.

  • Drugs Courts and the Opioid Epidemic.

Josh was lost in the end and was like a great number of young people we lost in the opioid epidemic of the early 2010's. His family opens their hearts and shares their perspective of the experience.

We delve into wet labs, the magic black box also known as a breathalyzer, field sobriety exercises, and some basic trial strategies. The episode turns to a discussion on a federal lawsuit out of the Middle District of Florida. The lawsuit named Taylor et. al v. Nocco concerns a group of familes suing the Sheriff of a Florida county claiming that “intelligence lead policing” tactics resulted in Unconstiutional actions by the named sheriff’s office.
