  • Season 3 Episode 7- A Conversation About Friendships
    2022/07/13

I was lucky to have two guests this week! Jay and CiCi. These women are 2 Black queens who aim to enlighten and encourage society on what life is like for Black Women. They leave no topic untouched and get straight to the point. All while being with the shits!

    Takeaways from our conversation:

    • You are worthy of friends
    • Friendships ebb and flow throughout different seasons in our lives, and that's OK
    • It's OK to ask for help from a friend- we weren't made to "do life" alone

As busy women, it's easy to let friendships go by the wayside when we're entrenched in the day-to-day activities when working, involved in mom life, or physically distant from friends. However, true friends are those that you can call in the middle of the night, are there to listen to you vent, or offer advice. We all deserve deep and meaningful friendships that add value to our lives and help us feel connected, understood, and seen.

  • Season 3 Ep. 4.- My COVID Journey
    2022/04/13

Honestly, this episode is one that I debated sharing with you all as it’s deeply personal. In the end my heart spoke and I knew I needed to share my journey with COVID to give a voice to all the others that are affected and dealing with “long haul” COVID effects.

It seems that everyone knows someone that’s been affected by COVID. I share with you my experience and the challenges I endured (and am currently still going through) in hopes of creating awareness and inspiring others to give themselves grace and to help others understand what life is like with long term effects.

    3 tips for self care:

    • Know your body- You are an expert on you
    • Advocate for yourself- SPEAK UP if something is not right
    • Have a support system (family, friends, neighbors)
    • Outsource tasks (house cleaning, meals, errands)

  • Season 3 Ep. 3- Part 2- A Conversation About Infidelity
    2022/03/16

I had the pleasure of speaking with Arretres Hollins, a Certified Mental Health Coach, teacher, and wife coach. She guides women as they heal from their husband’s infidelity through powerful faith-based coaching. Her style is magnetic. We spoke about what qualifies as infidelity, the changes that can happen in a marriage due to inside and outside stressors, and how to look within yourself to begin the healing process. Her superpower is “empowering wives to experience the divine clarity and healing needed to reconcile with their husband.”

    Key takeaways:

    • Defining infidelity
    • Behavior warning signs
    • Two types of cheaters
    • Be intentional about pouring into your marriage
    • 5 Love languages
    • Awareness of changes in needs within marriage/as individuals

3 ways to begin to heal from infidelity:

    1. Identification- being honest about what went wrong
    2. Rebuilding yourself through self-care- Knowing what your need and desire so you can communicate it to your partner + being self-aware (“I’m feeling___________, I need_________right now)
    3. Be intentional with your requests
