When AI is the Problem

Today Chris and I are discussing AI and a recently identified Resident Evil 9 review that was posted to meta critic and quickly removed when discovered as well as the recent shake up at Microsoft's Xbox that ended with Sara Bond NOT taking over as CEO of Xbox like we all thought, Instead the former head of Microsoft AI, Asha Sharma has been promoted to head of Xbox so... I guess we'll see what happens with that.

No Man's Sky

A game that never stops giving, another new update for the game that never ends. Chris updates us on the new Remnant content that has players traveling across the universe cleaning up industrial waste. Yet again Hello Games continues to iterate and give us new things to do.

Yakoh Shinobi Ops

A New Stealth tactics game from developer Acquire this game blends Isometric camera with metal gear and Tenchu style stealth. The team also is comprised of veterans from the Tenchu series and that's made very clear by it's design and ascetic. Unfortunately we have a long wait for this one but I'm personally JUICED for more Ninjas. *AC Shadows was trash*

Legacy of Kain Heart of Darkness Collection

Lok: Defiance and a new Lok: Ascendance were announced by Crystal Dynamics and I cannot tell you how stoked I am for more of this franchise to return. The Heart of Darkness Collection will include both games as well as skin packs. In addition to the game Crystal Dynamics is also releasing the previously unreleased demo for Legacy of Kain: Dark Prophet which was one of the cancelled games that was supposed to come after Defiance.

Diablo 2 Reign of the Warlock

Months back Diablo II posted a cryptic message on social media saying they weren't done with Diablo 2 Resurrected and damn where they not kidding! a whole new class as well as a host of changes are available NOW for diablo 2 with more to come for diablo Immortal and Diablo 4. Loot filters, new uniques, new stash tabs, a new runeword, and new end game content are all available now for Diablo 2 fans! I can't wait to get my hands on the Warlock and subjugate some demons!

Quick Fire News

1. High Guard is DOA to literally no one's surprise and it's our fault according to ex devs who are too out of touch to know the difference between their head and a hole in the sand.
2. Black One Blood Brother is a single player tactical FPS that puts you in charge of a squad and give you complete creative control. They just recently jumped from UE4 to UE5.7 which has improved the game in almost every possible way.
3. Echo Isle is a love letter to classic handheld Zelda games like Links awakening and a link to the passed. Demo available now on Steam.
4. Directive 8020 the new game from developer Supermassive has a launch date! May 12 2026!

Good Morning CoinDroppers!

Today we're discussing the Xbox Dev Direct showcase and more specifically, our first ever deep dive into Fable. It's been a long time coming and this dev direct has given us at CoinDrop a bit more hope for the reboot of this beloved franchise. We're also going to talk about Outward 2 and Chris' first impressions from the play test as well as Darkhaven. A new ARPG from Moon Beast Games and legends in the ARPG genre. So lets get into it!

Fable

In 2020 Fable gave us our first look at a game that got a lot of backlash for its... Interesting choice in character design. Years later, Playground games said "don't worry we totally have a male protagonist if that's your thing too." CoinDrop pressed X to doubt that statement. Well, YEARS LATER AGAIN! We've finally got a peel behind the curtain at Playground games and I gotta say, everyone at CoinDrop had their interest, and dare I say, hope, reignited. Time will tell if Fable can deliver but we wont have to wait long to find out.

Outward 2

The sequel to a game I (Karth) famously was not a fan of when the website was around, is conducting a playtest and Chris got in. Outward is a hard game with zero explanation and from what Chris has to say, its sounds like Outward 2 is more of the same. So if you're a fan of soul crushingly hard games (I see you dark souls fans) then you may have a new title to look forward to on the horizon.

Darkhaven

Moon Beast Games originally untitled game Mike and I talked about last year has a name! A new ARPG that's really going to shake things up (fingers crossed) From legends in the ARPG field, Philip Shenk, Peter Hu, and Erich Schaefer all founded Moon Beast Games and this new ARPG has some serious potential to be the follow up to Diablo II we all really want to see.
