Can a simple act of kindness really change the world?

In this week's message from The Church on the Path, Pastor Brent reflects on Jesus' surprising teaching that even a cup of cold water given in His name matters to God. In a culture that celebrates the big, the impressive, and the extraordinary, Jesus reminds us that the Kingdom of God is often built through small acts of love, compassion, and faithfulness.

Drawing from Romans 6 and Matthew 10, this message explores how our daily choices shape our hearts and our witness. Every encouraging word, every prayer offered, every act of generosity, every invitation extended, and every moment of kindness becomes an opportunity to participate in God's work of transforming lives.

The world measures impact by size. Jesus measures impact by love.

If you've ever wondered whether your efforts make a difference, this message is a reminder that nothing done in the name of Christ is ever wasted. The Kingdom grows one act of faithfulness at a time—one prayer, one conversation, one act of mercy, and yes, one cup of cold water at a time.

  • Lord, Do You Not Care?
    2026/06/22

    Romans 6:1b–11 | Matthew 10:24–39

Have you ever found yourself asking, “Lord, do You not care?”

In this week’s message, Rev. Brent explores one of the deepest questions of faith—the question we ask when life feels overwhelming, prayers seem unanswered, and the road ahead is uncertain.

Drawing from Romans, Matthew, and the story of Hagar in the wilderness, we discover that God’s care is not measured by the absence of hardship, but by His presence within it. Even when we cannot see the way forward, God is still at work. The well may already be there—we simply haven’t seen it yet.

This Father’s Day message reminds us that God’s love is not proven by preventing every storm, but by walking with us through them. And when we wonder if God cares, we need only look to the cross and the empty tomb.

Because every one of us will have a Friday.

But thanks be to God—Sunday is coming.

Join us as we discover the hope, grace, and resurrection promise found in Jesus Christ.

  • The Seeds We Sow
    2026/06/15

What if the most important thing you do today is something you may never see fully grow?

In this week's message from The Church on the Path, Pastor Brent reflects on Jesus' words: "The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few." Through stories of faith, service, and God's surprising work in unlikely places, we are reminded that disciples are called to be seed-planters—sowing grace, compassion, hope, and love wherever God sends them.

From Abraham and Sarah's impossible promise to Christ's compassion for the crowds, Scripture reveals a God who is always planting seeds before the harvest is visible. The question is not whether God is at work. The question is whether we are willing to step into the field and join Him.

This message challenges us to see people as Jesus sees them, to allow compassion to become mission, and to trust God with the growth. Because every act of kindness, every invitation, every prayer, every moment of service, and every expression of grace has the potential to become part of a harvest far greater than we can imagine.

You may never see the full impact of the seeds you sow—but God does.

    Scripture: Matthew 9:35–10:8
