Is anger always a bad thing? In 1 Samuel 11, we see one of Saul’s healthiest moments as king—when his anger over injustice moves him to protect others, while he refuses to let personal offense turn into bitterness or revenge.

In this message, we explore the difference between righteous and unrighteous anger and what our anger can reveal about our hearts. What is fueling our anger? Is it rooted in love and a desire to protect others, or in fear, judgment, hurt, or self-protection?

As we bring our anger honestly before Jesus, it can become an opportunity for God to work both in us and through us—moving us toward justice, healing, forgiveness, and a deeper reflection of His heart.

What happens when fear and insecurity begin to shape the way we see ourselves? In 1 Samuel 10, Saul has been chosen, anointed, and empowered by God to become Israel’s first king—yet when the moment comes to step into his calling, he’s hiding. His story reveals how fear, self-doubt, and insecurity can keep us from embracing who God has called us to be.

But God doesn’t leave us in hiding. Through the Holy Spirit, we are reminded of a deeper truth: we are God’s beloved children. We don’t have to be defined by fear, failure, or the opinions of others. We can learn to see ourselves through the lens of our Father’s unending love.
