We live in a day of “small things.” Added to this are our own failures, the devil’s accusations, false teachers and a lot of other priorities that distract and plague us. In Zechariah’s day, God’s people had returned from exile, but things were nowhere near what they had hoped for. Zechariah’s call was to bring comforting words to God’s struggling people. The aim of the book is God’s reassuring and revitalising word to his people.
