このコンテンツについて
This episode is dedicated to the memory of Coach Joe George.
Joe George spent nearly 40 years coaching baseball at Marshall County High School. He coached the defense for the Tiger Football team for 22 years. He was part of a state championship in football, and he coached the baseball program to State Titles in 1983, 1993, and 1994. He is a TSSAA Hall of Famer. More than anything else, he was a positive influence on his players, his school, and his community. Coach George passed away on April 9, 2024.
History Club members Jontavia Cross, Cathryne Burrahm, Henry Pearson, Brooklyn Carter, Cameron Rhiner, and Lyle Nelson host this episode recounting Coach George's career and accomplishments. We also included an unreleased conversation between former football coach Bob Edens and Coach George discussing their state championship season. Finally, we close out with a series of tribute messages from former players and colleagues remembering the life and influence that Coach George had on them and in Marshall County, including:
Mike "Monk" Reese
Jeff Lyttle
Kevin McGehee
Danny Pickle
Keith Stacey
Brent Adcox
and Coach Bob Edens
