  • A Battle of the Blues in the World Series
    2025/10/25
It is finally time for the Fall Classic! The World Series starts this week, and the Caught Em Looking podcast is here to talk about it. [1:00] Jordan starts us off recapping the historic performance by Shohei Ohtani in the last game of the NLCS, leading the LA Dodgers back to the World Series for the second year in a row. [10:24] Then we quickly recap the electric seven game series between the Seattle Mariners and Toronto Blue Jays, which saw the Blue Jays prevailing and returning to World Series for the first time since 1993. [16:20] Jaela then briefly chats about the importance of good coaching decisions, especially in these pivotal games, [26:50] before sharing her many thoughts on the rumored salary cap and overall team spending on payroll. In short, the Dodgers are NOT ruining baseball! [30:35] A brief recap of the newest baseball documentary on the former Montreal Expos shows the money make-up of MLB baseball hasn’t changed, and the problem is still a lack of spending by owners. [38:58] We then discuss how the practice of trading stars in the off-season hurts teams in the long run. [47:58] Finally, we chat about the final match-up of this year, and all the different ways the next week can play out.
