And after four years of competing in the Skin Games, his commitment ultimately led to being recognized with a major award—an emotional accomplishment he was able to celebrate with his mother and best friend.

Your friends may remember the old version of you.

2. Consistency can turn the underdog into the expert.
Michael credits taking opportunities, staying consistent on Instagram, improving his client experience, and continuously perfecting his craft as major pieces of his growth.

3. Mastery requires more than taking classes, you need to stay in the game to learn from experience.
Through four years of competing in the Skin Games, Michael had to apply his education, understand ingredients, create treatment plans, write case studies, and prove his knowledge—not simply consume more information.

4. The beauty industry needs less shaming and more constructive education.
Michael and Sheila discuss the negativity they see online. Professionals can absolutely speak up about safety, poor practices, and important industry issues—but there's a difference between educating and publicly shaming someone simply because they do things differently.

5. You don't need your friends' permission to pursue your calling.
Good friends can give honest feedback when they believe something could hurt you. But when you know you genuinely want a new career or opportunity, someone else's doubt doesn't have to determine what you do next.

What if being "booked and busy" isn't actually the flex you think it is?

There's a beauty entrepreneur in your industry right now with a calendar half as full as yours who could be making twice as much money. She's not necessarily more talented, luckier, or better at marketing. She may simply be doing less—on purpose.

In this episode of the CEO Glow Show, Sheila Bella challenges one of the beauty industry's favorite badges of honor: having a completely full calendar.

Because there's a BIG difference between a full calendar and a profitable calendar.

If you're squeezing clients in on your days off, accepting appointments outside your normal hours, throwing in free add-ons, discounting services, and constantly making "just this once" exceptions, you may not have a booking problem.

You may have a boundary problem.

Sheila explains how every "yes" you don't actually mean teaches clients what they can expect from you. That early appointment becomes something you offer. Your day off becomes negotiable. That free add-on becomes expected. Before you know it, your calendar is packed with exceptions that leave you exhausted without creating the income you should be earning.

But the answer isn't simply getting better at saying no.

The real CEO move is building a business that says no for you.

Your pricing can say no. Your policies can say no. Your packages can say no. Your booking system can say no. Instead of fighting every boundary battle personally, you can create a business structure that protects your time, energy, and profitability automatically.

Stop being proud of busy. Start getting paid for it.

1. A full calendar is NOT a profitable calendar.
Having every appointment filled doesn't mean every hour is paying you what it should. Being booked solid can actually hide serious profitability problems.

2. Every "yes" you don't mean costs you.
Coming in early, squeezing someone into your day off, or throwing in a free add-on may feel like good customer service, but those little exceptions create financial and emotional leaks.

3. Every exception teaches your clients a new rule.
When you repeatedly bend a boundary, clients learn that your schedule, pricing, and policies are negotiable. As Sheila says, "You didn't do a favor. You wrote a policy."

4. Saying no creates room for better clients.
Every wrong-fit, discounted, draining booking occupies space that could have gone to a right-fit, full-price client. Every yes to the wrong booking can become an invisible no to the right one.

5. Build a business that says no FOR you.
Successful business owners don't rely solely on willpower to enforce boundaries. Their pricing, policies, packages, and booking systems create structure so they don't have to personally negotiate every exception.
