    Essex people talk about how healthcare changed dramatically during the 20th Century. They describe personal experiences of deadly diseases like scarlet fever, diptheria, polio and TB. We hear how the job of a GP and nurse has changed radically and there are accounts of hospital developments and medical advances compared with the past.

    Essex people also speak about how death and funerals were different in times past and how attitudes have changed.
