  • RIP Baz: A Tribute to Stephen Barwick (Episode 175)

    Stephen Barwick, who died on Tuesday, 11 August 2026 at the age of 65, was one of the great characters of the Glamorgan team of the 1980s and 1990s.

    This episode contains tributes from professional and amateur players, supporters and others to this great exponent of the craft of bowling, in particular in limited overs cricket.

  • Derek Picken BEM: 'Rogerstone Through and Through' (Episode 173)

    In this episode we talk to Derek Picken of Rogerstone Cricket Club just outside Newport. Derek was interviewed back in 2020 for the podcast where he shared his history of the club and the village.

    With over 70 years association with cricket in Rogerstone behind him and many of those years acting as an administrative ‘rock’ for the club, Derek is one of the longest serving officers in recreational cricket in Wales.

    Last year, he was nominated by the local community council in Rogerstone for British Empire Medal in recognition of the sterling work he has done researching and sharing the history of the village.

    We talk to him in this episode about his cricketing memories as well as being awarded the BEM.
