Why does the Catholic Church have a Pope? Is the papacy a human invention, or a divine institution established by Christ Himself? Drawing from Sacred Scripture, the Catechism, the Early Church Fathers, and Vatican documents, we explore how and why the office of the Bishop of Rome serves as the enduring, visible foundation of Christian unity.
