    2026/08/12

This one is late due to a combination of business setbacks and a question from Aussie Jerry.

Brother woke up to a lot of birds on his lawn, and we all know that can't be good. He's annoyed by the collective nouns for birds, and Sister is forced to defend them.

Jon's daughter is all about Twilight, so The Sib's are getting into the nitty gritty of the vampire life, and Allison teaches Jon about movie vampires. It's almost back to school time in Alaska and it's too early for that crap.

WE HAVE A MESSAGE FROM TIM ROTH! Fecal matter bacteria is high in the Milk River of Writing-On-Stone Provincial Park in Alberta, and not everyone is taking it seriously.

WE HAVE A MESSAGE FROM AUSSIE JERRY! He's asking The Sibs to solve the problem of the decline of democracy, so obviously...squabbles ensue.

We end off with a Fact Check and a directive to our Alberta correspondent.

  • 131. A Lot Of Us Died
    2026/08/04

Brother is feeling gentle to start today's show, and Sister slept in, so we're off to a slow start. After dropping the needle and hearing from Grandpa Dore, Jon's current situation makes him nostalgic for times gone by.

Once again talking about technologies effect on the world, Allison outlines reasons for hope, and Jon insists all humans are gross and reveals what really drives innovation. Allison gives up.

WE HAVE A MESSAGE FROM RYAN! He's also a fan of the podcast Valley Heat, and a listener of Stop Podcasting Yourself - a very long running, hilarious pod hosted by The Sibs friends Dave and Graham. He's suggesting a bit of a collab - but not in the way you think.

WE HAVE A MESSAGE FROM MITCH! He's the host of the So Fly podcast, and he's calling from The Sib's hometown to see if they want to go fishing!

Jon speaks on the dangers of the life aquatic, and Allison reminisces about one of her favourite scandals. One more needle drop and it's Sibs OUT!

  • 130. Spider Killer: Qu'est-ce Que C'est
    2026/07/28

Brother had an upsetting dream, and Sister went back on her word and decimated a spider community. The Sibs are starting this one off with transparency and vulnerablilty!

WE HAVE A MESSAGE FROM CATHERINE! It is a lovely message, so why was Jon scared when he heard who it was from? The message leads to a squabble, which is not Catherine's fault - she is always trying to help these two, but really, who can?

Jon has gotten out their Grandpa's old tapes, and as they listen to old phone calls and do a little research, The Sibs bicker because they can't not, and it's genetic. Mysteries abound from these tapes, but will they get solved this episode???

  • 129. Brother's Walk To Freedom
    2026/07/21

Brother went camping and we get the answer to last week's cliffhanger: did he take a plane to the woods? And more importantly: 4 people went into the woods, but how many came out??? Sister is baffled at all the people that want to go to harsh environments and either hang out, or worse, do endurance exercises.

Allison is fixed on a fact she learned, and even though Jon is bored he indulges her, then it time for a FACT CHECK! Jon brings up War of the Worlds, leading to an all out squabble about Tom Cruise.

WE HAVE A MESSAGE FROM AUSSIE JERRY! He's answering the questions Jon asked last week, allegedly to prove that guests on our show don't work, but unfortunately he wrote a very entertaining letter and now The Sibs are hooked.

WE HAVE A MESSAGE FROM NURI! The last episode got her thinking about death, and although she came up with the pettiest idea for using her cremains to get vengeance on her enemies, she's probably going to opt for a more eco-friendly disposal.

  • 128. Sister Says Something Sensible
    2026/07/14

Brother is home in Alaska and Sister is in Edmonton at The Grindstone Comedy Festival, so their geolocations are closer than usual!

Allison shares some great moments of the festival, and Jon shares his concerns about his upcoming camping trip…which starts at the end of the episode.

Jon's daughter asked him what he wants to happen to his body when he dies, leading The Sibs to discuss it - and he doesn't care for Allison's suggestion so he makes a worse one for her.

WE HAVE A MESSAGE FROM LISA! She was chillin' at the cottage when Jon raged against her "homewrecking" on the last episode, so she's checking in and looking for recipes.

WE HAVE A MESSAGE FROM DR. STAN! Our most learned listener is at a conference on the Amalfi Coast, and went to a concert in a beautiful setting, so he wants to know The Sibs favourite venue.

WE HAVE A MESSAGE FROM ANDREA! If sweet Andrea is frustrated with her fellow dog walkers, you KNOW they are doing something wrong!

  • 127. The Sheep Coming Home To Roost
    2026/07/08

Fresh off Canada First and Independence Day, The Sibs talk parades, fraternal orders, and costumes vs. accessories.

UPDATE! Father David Dore's case of AI trickery has a resolution!

*FACTCHECK* Is Betty Boop relevant or not???

WE HAVE A MESSAGE FROM AUSSIE JERRY! A friend of his says that he contributes so much, he now counts as a guest on the show. Brother and Sister share the same opinion, then disagree, then sort of agree again.

Jon wants to hit the rails, Allison thinks it won't go the way he thinks. He suggests a terrible idea, and Allison wants everyone to know he is incorrect.

One of their favourite actors goes on one of their absolutely not favourite podcasts, and disappointingly shills for AI.

  • 126. Foods To Eat While Crying
    2026/06/30

We had to begin with the sad news that Chili David Dorgi, Sister's beloved dog, crossed the rainbow bridge. If you want to avoid the sad stuff, skip ahead to about 8:30, where Brother starts addressing the real topics: what foods are best to eat while sobbing? Which foods should be avoided depending on what emotions you are feeling? Is angry eating funny or scary?

Allison shouts out one of her favourite podcasts, Valley Heat, but talks too long about it and Jon gets annoyed; The Sibs discuss her future, derailing only slightly to ask why HOAs? They seem bad.

You know what's always bad? THIRD PARTIES. Whether it's in a night or an affiliate situation, DON'T DO IT. Father David Dore got fooled by nefarious AI, and The Sibs are on the case! They will stop at nothing to get justice for him; including trying to get a bot to admit it's a bot, but first they have to revisit Jon's classic poem "I wish I were a meadow".

Jon gets so worked up talking about third parties, he lashes out at a listener! Someone taking friendly fire for just sitting at home listening! The ADHD is strong in this episode as they get derailed again, this time talking about the issues with having the nasal cavity connected to the throat.

Getting back to the story, Jon tries to improv a phone call to demonstrate the issue, but as always Allison can't improv right. They get the end of part one of the story - but vow to avenge their father no matter what it takes.
