  • Living Resurrection Life
    2026/04/12
Once we have encountered Jesus on the cross, we can never be the same again. Pastor Bawa describes the character of our life in the risen Jesus, with its immense blessings and also the challenge of living in a world which seeks to impress upon us its own values, at odds with those of Jesus and his kingdom. From Paul's writings we see the blessings of being free from condemnation and living with the security of being children of God. We read, with Pastor Bawa, the description of our resurrection life from Romans chapter 8 and are invited to respond to the following questions: What do we say in response to this? How do we live out our new life, our new identity, lived out in the the new community of the people of God? How do we live this out in the face both of life's challenges and its successes? If God is for us, who can be against us? Pastor Bawa shares what it means to be more than conquerors - "more than" because the battle that gives us the power to conquer has been won without us fighting it - won by Jesus. How will he not graciously give us all things? Beyond our material needs - which Jesus promises us as we seek first him and his kingdom - Jesus gives us what we need to live a victorious Christian life such as strength in the face of weakness and humility in the face of pride.Pata Bawa concludes by reminding us that there is no condemnation because Christ died for us, no accusation because God justifies, no separation because Jesus loves us, and no defeat because we are more than conquerors in him.We welcome you to Bridge Community Church, Leeds! We invite you to join our online community!Like us on Facebook: https://bit.ly/BCCLeedsFacebookJoin our Facebook Group: http://bit.ly/BCCOnlineCommunityGroupFollow us on Instagram: https://bit.ly/BCCLeedsInstagramFollow us on Twitter: https://bit.ly/BCCLeedsTwitterVisit our Website: https://www.bccleeds.org/If you would like to give to further our work. • Three Truths About the Resurrection
    2026/04/05
What must it have been like for the women who went to Jesus's tomb on Easter Day? They had been preparing themselves to say their final "goodbye" to Jesus - enacted through the burial rite of bringing spices and perfume to Jesus's body. What they weren't prepared for was the scene they discovered - no stone in front of the tomb, no body, and no idea what had happened! What were they to do? Angels provided the answer. Don't look for the risen among the dead - he has risen!Pastor Andy Lancaster invites us to join the angels in making the same declaration, and to share the experiences of Jesus's followers in the days following. As well as the joy and excitement of the women, we can join the eleven disciples, fearfully locked in a room. We can hear Jesus speaking into our own "locked rooms" of fear, lost hope, and past experiences to which we need Jesus to speak his words of power and comfort: "Peace be with you!"Pastor Andy goes on to share three truths about the resurrection of Jesus. Because of this event in history we have forgiveness from our past, and the peace with God that follows from this. We also have fellowship with the Holy Spirit day by day in the present, a fellowship that Pastor Andy describes as a “holy alliance” as we have the privilege of joining with Jesus in his global mission. And we have peace about the future, where death is not the extinguishing of light, but turning off the lamp because the dawn has come.Peace to you this Easter! We welcome you to Bridge Community Church, Leeds! • Palm Sunday
    2026/03/29
Pastor Jacqui Richmond takes us into the crowds on Palm Sunday as we walk with Jesus into Jerusalem. We see Jesus fulfil the prophecy of Zechariah Chapter 9, riding on a donkey, symbolising the nature of his kingship demonstrated by humility and service. We hear the praise of the disciples and the crowds - praise that cannot be silenced even though it offended the sensibilities of the Pharisees. In the midst of the cheering and celebration we pause to see Jesus weeping as he foresees the forthcoming destruction of Jerusalem.Pastor Jacqui invites us to engage with the lessons from this account. Like the disciples sent to find the donkey for Jesus, what is Jesus sending us to do, and what resources is he providing for us to fulfil our mission? As the disciples laid their cloaks at Jesus' feet, so we too can lay before him our own cares, concerns, and the direction of lives. We can trust him to care for us and guide us, knowing that whilst the future is unclear to us, he sees it all and knows the best paths for us to take. Can we too feel the pain of Jesus as we pray for those who are lost outside of Christ? And on this Palm Sunday Pastor Jacqui encourages us to join in the prayer of God's people, echoing down the ages, as we too bring our pray and praises - "Hosanna to the Son of David! Blessed is the king who comes in the name of the Lord! Peace in heaven and glory in the highest!"Like us on Facebook: https://bit.ly/BCCLeedsFacebookJoin our Facebook Group: http://bit.ly/BCCOnlineCommunityGroupFollow us on Instagram: https://bit.ly/BCCLeedsInstagramFollow us on Twitter: https://bit.ly/BCCLeedsTwitterVisit our Website: https://www.bccleeds.org/If you would like to give to further our work.
