Elias Lindholm is feeling physically ready for the new season after a months-long break, but lingering back issues remain a major question mark for both him and the Boston Bruins. Signed to a massive seven-year, $54M deal in 2024, his point production hasn’t lived up to expectations, forcing the team to lean on other centers like Pavel Zacha and Fraser Minten. With the salary cap rising, his contract’s financial impact is lessened — but the Bruins still hope he can thrive as a middle-six contributor, especially on the power play, putting up 40-50 points. His health is everything: past injuries have hampered his play, especially post-Olympics, so he’s revamped his offseason routine to prioritize rehab and gradual training — all while hoping this time, his body stays strong.

James Hagens lit up the Boston Bruins’ Prospects Showcase with six goals in two games, including a four-goal OT thriller against Buffalo — helping the Bruins sweep the series 10-5. Training camp kicks off Thursday as eyes turn to roster cuts and NHL contract deadlines: Ottawa nears an eight-year deal for Drake Batherson, Buffalo locked in Noah Ostlund, while Ducks and Devils scramble to sign before the deadline. Elsewhere, Bo Horvat takes captaincy in NYI, Montreal extends Martin St. Louis through 2030, and Cam Talbot heads to Columbus on a one-year deal. With looming CBA changes, every move could reshape the league — and the Bruins’ camp is just getting started.
