    The music from the Boomer era takes us back to a time and place we remember as though it were yesterday. Teenagers, a high school dance, a restaurant, a car, "our song," thousands of memories of a very special time.

    We early Boomers are very lucky to have lived during that incredible slice of American history, and the music was an important part of it. I'm happy to have Spotify where all that music lives on.

  • Under the Hood -- Gasoline $4.45! How'd that happen?

    This week we look at a bit of a slant on the news, sort of an "are you kidding me?" Then we take a closer look at the price of gasoline. Wondering why, when a bomb hits a tanker 5000 miles away, the price of gas goes up $.30 a gallon 15 minutes later at my neighborhood gas station. Sheeese.

  • 250 Years Ago ---What an Incredible Experiment!

    250 years ago a group of men notified the King of England that they declared the 13 colonies were then an independent entity on their own. They were no longer a part of England in any way. That notification became known as The Declaration of Independence.

    The date was July 4th, 1776. It became the birth of The United States of America. The colonials realized that they were taking on the most formidable military force in the world at the time.

    A war ensued and, 5 years later, on October of 1781, the British commander, Lord Charles Cornwallis, surrendered the British forces to George Washington and his French allies at Yorktown, Virginia. 13 different colonies, came together to form a union that was destined to change the world.
